Bah! I am bummed

I am a CNN watcher and Carol Costello (on 9 AM weekday mornings) has always been one of my favorites. So today it's her last day, and actually her last ten minutes since her show ends at 11 AM. I am so disappointed.

She's going to the West Coast and hasn't said what her reason is. Maybe she will in this last segment. I'm wondering who is going to take her place. Probably a younger woman, I am thinking Michelle Kosinski or Sunlen Surfaty, both good reporters and both very pretty. That's how it goes in the news business.

She just announced she going to HLN (that makes three now) and her husband lives in LA, so it was apparently her decision, at least I hope so.

(Those of you who don't watch CNN won't care about this.)

I wonder if Tamron Hall is taking her place? She just left NBC/MSNBC.

I know who she is but have never watched her. If she is popular with viewers, it could be her. The two I mentioned are already CNN reporters, so who knows. I would be happy with either one.

I heard her on Monday morning say that Friday was her last day.She said that it was totally her decision.She said her husband works in California & she misses him!! The distance was wearing them out,the constant flying back & forth.So she asked CNN for a transfer over to HLN which broadcasts out of California. I'm going to miss her class & professionalism!!

Yes; I heard her say this earlier in the week. I will miss her too. As you said, she is classy and professional.

Oh I'm so glad to hear it was her decision. And I get HLN and can still see her occasionally. She joins two other former CNN reporters who have left for HLN in the past year, Ashley Banfield and Michaela Pereira.

CNN and HLN are "sister" networks.

Well good for her! I usually don't turn on CNN until B&B are on. I have tried to get into the HLN thing, but it hasn't stuck yet....

I feel the same way. The same difference as between QVC and HSN. HLN just isn't as classy as CNN.

I start watching either before or at 8 AM when New Day is on. Most of the time all the "new" news hits around then, and the rest of the day just repeated every hour or two by other anchor reporters. But I've always been a news junkie and guess I still am. I mute a lot though . . .

4-6 AM – Early Start with Christine Romans and Dave Briggs

6-9 AM – New Day with Chris Cuomo and Alisyn Camerota

9-11 AM – CNN Newsroom with John Berman and Poppy Harlow

11-noon – At This Hour with Kate Bolduan

Noon-1 PM – Inside Politics with John King

1-2 PM – Wolf with Wolf Blitzer

2-4 PM – Newsroom with Brooke Baldwin

4-5 PM – The Lead with Jake Tapper

5-7 PM – The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer

@occasionalrain I hope they don't replace Michala...I think most often she is the voice of reason.I love her reporting style and I don't think she puts spin on her stories.

I like Carol Costello too.

It will be weird her not being on CNN.

I can't get into HLN either, half the time I don't even remember what channel it is on lol

I seldom watch cnn but did catch the weatherman yelling at Costello. I felt very sorry for her. Watching it live was much worse than the video.

My impression of HLN is that they're very sensationalistic.

But maybe I'm going by people like Nancy Grace and Jane Whatsherface (although I love that she is a huge animal rights activist)
