Calling a Product by the Correct Brand Name (The Find)

On The Find tonight SK said to check the Q's website about things needed for movie night. She referred to "Tupperware" when she should have called it "Lock n Lock".

I know this is nitpicking but if the Q is trying to sell things, the hosts should refer to them by the correct brand name.

I have never seen The Find. I do think that Tupperware is often used as a generic term for plastic bowls similar to Kleenex for all tissues or Jello for all gelatins.

My guess would be that the Lock and Lock lady might find that objectionable and would want the host to be more precise.

"Tupperware" has become sort of a "generic name"............like "Kleenex". Of course, it's not fair to the owner of the trademark................but they are not going to sue you (!)

I just watched Watch What Happens Live from last night (1/31), when Lisa Rinna and Eileen Davidson were the guests.

During one portion, Andy Cohen referenced "Lisa's clothing line on HSN" and Lisa didn't bother to correct him at the time that her line is on QVC.

However, the next time he mentioned her line he did say QVC.

I saw that. I think Lisa was so giddy and laughing so hard, I don't even think she heard him say that.

When that woman came out with that rack of clothes imitating LR, I started to laugh out loud. That was really funny.

I put Tupperware in "Search QVC" and guess what displayed, "Lock & Lock".

Didn't hear in what context SK used the term, but yeah probably would have been better if she said Lock & Lock. The closure system between the two are totally different.

Lock & Lock has pretty much become a universal description name now also. I see at lot of other manufacturers utilizing the same closure system.

I agree with @Catty2. SK is not your neighbor, she's a sales person selling Lock and Lock professionally.

Dang right she should get the name right! It's a pretty foolish error for a "pro".
