It seems like 2017 is starting like 2016 ended with celebrity deaths.

Between Thursday & Friday of this week, we lost Mary Tyler Moore, Mike Connors (TV show Mannix), Barbara Hale and John Hirt. Four in two days - too many. I'm old enough to remember all their TV shows and movie performances and they were all talented.

It is sad but these people all had a rich, full, long lives. I am always deepely sadenned when the lives of young people are cut short. Some deaths are just a function of life, and others, pure tragedy. May they all rest in peace.

Maybe it just reminds you of how old we are now because we remember loving them and their shows so long ago when TV was decent.

They had very full nice lives,feelsorry for the young, liitle kids dying, young adults like my son he was 27,never got to get married,have kids, grow old.

John Hurt. One of my alltime favorite actors. Can't ever forget the first time I saw him in I, Claudius as Emperor Caligula. Amazing. And perfect as The Elephant Man too. <sigh>.

To Goldensrbest: You're absolutely correct that many die too young. We also lost our son at age 33 to cancer. He was married but had no children. I don't feel sadness when the elderly die. Most have lived good lives. My mother-in-law is 91 and wants to go to heaven now. My 98 yr old mother wants to live, but she doesn't have any health problems. My grandmother died at age 1002.

@henderson -- I'd say your grandma lived a very long life if she lived to be 1002.
