So, so sad.

This woman worked hard, was a representative of the "new-age woman" and endured so much personal pain [health- and love-wise (the loss of her son, for instance)].

May God rest her soul.

One cannot help but think of Valerie Harper's health threat several years ago that marked her as the first to go among the housemates in Minneapolis. You never know how things will work out.

I am so sorry to read of her passing. I remember as a young girl watching The Mary Tyler Moore Show and admiring her and hoping that I could be just like her. The show was inspiring to me, She will be missed.

Have to say I teared up reading this news. So many happy memories of watching her on TV! Such a gentle, kind , sweet lady!!

MTM has not been well for a number years. A few years ago when Valerie Harper announced she was terminally ill, MTM said something about not believing she would outlive VH.

I grew up watching her and this is very sad news. She seemed like such a lovely person. I know my parents watched The Mary Tyler Moore show, which I remember some of, but she will always be Laura Petrie to me because I grew up watching those reruns.

I hope Mr. VanDyke lives forever because he was an important part of my childhood. (I left the space out of his name, but the site may still turn it into **** when I click Post.)

I loved her on tv, but I was really impressed by her acting in " Ordinary People" . She had quite a range and a killer smile. Rest In Peace Mary.

I knew she was very ill but it is still terribly sad that she is gone. On The ****** van ****** Show and on her own show, she was simply wonderful. She will be missed.

Mary was a diabetic for most of her life. I had a feeling she was ill about 2 years ago, she guest starred on Hot in Cleveland, and she was always seated, they never showed her walking or standing.
