Sources close to the family tell us her condition is so grim family members are coming to the hospital to say goodbye. The TV icon's long battled diabetes, and she underwent brain surgery in 2011.

One source tells us Mary has been on a respirator for more than a week.

We're told Moore is suffering from a number of health problems and recently it has become critical.

Mary starred in "The ****** Van ****** Show" and had an incredible run with "The Mary Tyler Moore Show."

She's had a pretty tough life behind the screen.

T1 diabetes, heart issues, brain tumor, alcoholism...

and didn't she have a son die when he was young?

Plus divorce, etc. Hope she makes it...💛

I am saddened to hear that.

It doesn't look good for her, if the family has been called to the hospital to say their good-byes.

My daughter lives in the same area as MTM. She has seen her at local restaurants and was shocked at how ill she is. Diabetes and Alzheimer's are destroying her. It is terribly sad. Mary Tyler Moore is a beautiful woman who has had a fabulous career. It is tragic that she is so ill.

The way it is written, "on a respirator for a week", sounds like they are just letting family and friends come and say good-bye before they turn it off.

That is sad. I wonder how old she is? Brain surgery in 2011, I never knew that. I knew about the diabetes.

She had Alzheimer's? What a terrible disease that is.

A wonderful actor and a wonderful person (knowing only as much as the public knew about her). I loved the Mary Tyler Moore show. So funny.

I believe I read she has been a type 1 diabetic since childhood so to have gotten to age 80 is pretty remarkable. Plus she had a brain tumor at one point as well.I always enjoyed her on TV.

Most brittle Diabetics like her rarely live to see 50. She took great care of herself to live as long as she has. What a great lady and great actress. So sad to hear this news.

She was diagnosed T1 diabetic at the age of 33.

Mary Tyler Moore was one of my idols growing up.I Admired her beauty,her humor & her grace!! She's been through a lot.Aside from struggling with diabetes her entire life she's had a slew of health problems.She also buried her only child some years back.He accidentally shot himself!! Yet she never felt sorry for herself!! She always got right back up & marched on!!

Every thursday at 6AM Sundance (Optimum) would run re-runs of the MTM show.

I have been recording them each Thursday.

Today no MTM and next week no MTM.

They switch off woth All in the Family, Bob Newhart, etc.

Wonder why they pulled her show.

Loved the show and Mary Richards. I pray for her.
