Astronaut Eugene Cernan's Funeral on NASA Live Feed Today, 1/24

For those who are interested, the funeral of NASA astronaut Eugene Cernan, who was called "the last man on the Moon," will be on NASA's live feed today. The time is 3:30 EST and 2:30 CST (the funeral will be held in Houston, I think). In Northern Virginia and on Cox Cable, the NASA channel is 157.

I wonder if Harrison Ford, a very good friend of Captain Cernan, will speak. It is interesting that Captain Cernan chose to be buried in Texas rather than Arlington National Cemetery. He loved Texas, his adopted state. Plus, family members live there and can more easily visit his gravesite.

Oznell, I am pleased that you enjoyed the column on Eugene Cernan. He truly was special. I loved that he had humility but an immense drive to succeed. Cernan was a rare and wonderful human being.

I viewed the funeral in its entirety. To the end, Captain Gene Cernan showed what a sterling patriot and human being he was. Yes, there were tears.
