Remember what a stunner she was? It's hard to believe she is that old. I'm glad she never let the creepy Alfred Hitchcock destroy her life. She is still beautiful

He was a piece of work. However, he had a knack for suspense in movies. I will be turning 50 this year and that movie still has the ability to creep me out.

I am speaking of "The Birds".

I just now finished reading her book 'Tippi' A Memoir'.

She sure loved those animals lot more then I would have.

She sure had a mission.

Yeah, she wanted to set the record straight before she dies.

He tried to 'acost' her many times. He had a thing you know for blondes.

He had delivered to her door a bushel basket of potatoes and bread told her to gain some wgt. She said she'd been 100 pds. since high school and just stayed that wgt. naturally. (Must be nice)

she always made sure she never was alone with him if she could arrange it, but, one time he called her in the office and she wouldn't go into detail , but, just said he did something she couldn't even write about because she's tried to block it from her mind. (he was married to Alma, she knew he did that with all of them, but, for some reason would never put a stop to it ).

She had a contract with him and had to stay till it was over, but, after that she hit the door a running. He blackballed her for awhile she had trouble getting roles, but, eventually she got back on course.

That whole 'Birds' movie was horrible. After she rebuffed him , the next day was the scene up in the attic where the birds broke thru the ceiling and attacked her. Most scenes they were mechanical birds, but, after she rebuffed him he changed the script and had the animal handler to sub real ravens . The trainer couldn't look her in the face on the morning of the shoot, she knew something was wrong. They smeared some kind of goo on her and when they let the real ravens out that scene was REAL . One got to close to her eye and almost pecked her eye out and one scrathed the P out of her face. After scene was shot it was quiet everybody knew he had her attacked for payback. Nobody wanted to lose their job and kept quiet.

She went home and had to call a Dr. for nervous exhaustion almost had a nervous breakdown and the Dr. had to tell Hitch that she couldn't return for any more follow up shots for at least a week. He wanted to bring her right back , but, the studio Dr. out ranked him.

I'm getting a book called Hitchcock and his Women next. Although, I believe her I want to get all sides of the story. She liked Rod Taylor , though. LOL Cute , he was.

What all she went thru for all those wild animals is beyond reason.

Just stupid. Sorry.

She went bankrupt had to sell her house, diamond ring and mink coat .

I couldn't figure out what she was doing with a mink coat that Hitch had gave her in first place when she is a animal activist. Maybe that was before she became real active in the movement.

She adores Melanie. Only child. She had 3 husbands. Then, said, that's it for me they all fell short and were idiots. LOL She's more then happy to live out her life with animals and grandkids.

I got book at library, but, proceeds from the book (some of them) goes towards her animal preserve. Cost a fortune to run that place.

Yes, JeanLouiseFinch, that is fun and suspenseful, and I love the clothes, decor, and restrained but effective performance by Sean Connery.

Those pictures reveal Tippi to be a stunningly beautiful woman at any age. It's interesting that some of the great screen beauties were animal lovers and protectors--- Doris Day, Brigitte Bardot, Kim Novak, Tippi Hedren and many others. I wonder if in some way these actresses experienced a feeling of vulnerability working in a callous field like show biz, and it enhanced their feeling for the helplessness and preciousness of animals...

Probably wanted to keep jobs or they would do anything to make it big in movies and it wasn't such a big deal to them.

Bet after Grace Kelly was engaged to the Prince none of that business went on with her.

Sister and I can't believe that these actresses all marry losers . Why don't they stay single, keep their money and live happily ever after.

Doris Day, was scammed horrible.

Once I get this book written about Hitchcock it should bring into focus more like on Kim Novak, etc.

Don't forget Janet Leigh and 'Psycho'. I read her book, too, but, don't remember much about it.

Just a heads up for any folks out there like me crazy about the old time stars.

Any books you can get at library, etc. that's written by Tony Curtis. Don't hesitate, he writes a great book. LOL Not afraid to speak his mind.

Just finished a book, also, written by Robert Wagner 'I Really Liked her in the Movies'. Mostly, a rehash of his other books, but, he's a gentleman.

Only person he would really diss was Shelley Winters and Leslie Ann Down

I've got all the complete Hart to Hart DVd's. Wish they would quit saying he killed his wife, Natalie Wood. Ol' Bull s*8t he never killed her. Makes me so mad. She was a alcoholic and fell over the side when the sea got rough. Poor man and her poor daughters have to read that s*8t . Gees !
