Ordering new checks from ads - question

I usually order new checks from my bank, but am trying to cut costs (They run around $38 for 4 sets of checks). I see these ads in my Sunday paper for ordering checks (at a fraction of the price) and am wondering if anyone uses these and if they are safe to order from. Thanks in advance!

I got my checks from Checks Unlimited, and I didn't have any problems, and they arrived exactly as how I wanted them, plus they were reasonably priced.

I've had no problem with ordering checks from ads. I have, however switched over to Current because of their selection.

I have ordered from Checks Unlimited probably 5 times in 5 years, and they are great. Good service, checks are accurate, low prices, and speedy service. I would definitely recommend them.

I've ordered checks from Checks Unlimited, Artistic Checks and even Walmart. No problems ever.

I never order them from the bank. They are too expensive.

My husband's bank supplies his checks. He can use the carbon checks and use as many as he needs. That's nice. He pays a $9 monthly fee, but that includes paper statements which we need.

We bank seperate, so my bank does not supply checks.

I've always ordered from ads and never had a problem. Sams Club also has checks to order.

Has anyone used Stylechecks? They are really inexpensive - $14 for 4 boxes (duplicates). Seems to be a secured site.

I am more comfortable ordering my checks from Costco or Sam's Club (I usually order from Costco). Their prices are also much cheaper than what the banks charge and I trust them a little bit more (perhaps unreasonably so but I do).

Also, I can deal with them locally if there ever is a problem and I need help with it as opposed to some place only mail order.

I've used both Checks Unlimited and Current and have been pleased with the checks I ordered. My current bank provides one box of 150 checks free each year and while I'm not crazy about the design, they're not costing me anything. I only write a couple of checks a month, so that box lasts a long time.

Memory fails, but I'm pretty sure I've used Checks Unlimited in the past with no issues. I've since switched to CheckWorks because I fell in love with a specific design: Will Bullas' Bunny Tales.

Not only do they feature the artwork of Will Bullas, but CheckWorks did something the other companies didn't: They offered EIGHT designs in the series. Variety!

But because of your post I went to their site to see if Bunny Tales was still available. Yes, it is, but my favorite checks aren't. They've since limited the number of different designs to four: Hare Brain, Everyhare, Bunny Tales and Hare Ball. I'm mortified! What happened to Dust Bunnies, Snow Bunny, Attila the Bun and Bad to the Bun?

Good thing I still have a ton of checks left from my last order and am using fewer checks these days.

Yes, I am an adult, as a matter of fact. Someday I'll have plain checks (not).

@hoosieroriginal. If you are a senior citizen, many banks give free checks to senior citizens, along with no fees and interest on your balance.

In the past, in my "lots of checks" writing days, I used to order from Current for the cute checks. I think I may have ordered checks from Checks Unlimited as well (they were NASCAR checks). The last checks I ordered were from Costco as they have a cute selection. I think I got Star Trek checks this time.

I have used every brand of check. Harland Clarke has the best quality paper. I brought my last two boxes from Checks Unlimted. These checks are all right. The added fees to send them can really raise the prices. I buy duplicate checks without all the extra security charges.

When I mainly used checks, I ordered online, I think Current (are they still in business?) and Checks Unlimited. Not a problem. Much less expensive from your bank and you can get cute designs.

I use checks.com...no problems. Ordering thru the bank is much more expensive.
