I have my sewing club today - DH is off with the car so I have to go in the golf cart - no problem except it is only 57 out right now - but when I'm coming home it will be around 75. If I wear long pants and a sweatshirt I will be comfortable now but too hot when I get to the clubhouse and way too hot this afternoon coming home. Oh I know - those of you up north would love to have this problem. But for here this is very odd - it is usually either warm or cold here and not usually psychotic weather jumping all around the thermometer in one day.

We have some delicate flowers out in pots and we are having to drag them out every morning so they get the sun then drag them back into the garage in the evening because it will be too cold overnight. They are in large , heavy pots.

I guess the weather is odd everywhere. My niece tells me it is melting and ugly in Pittsburgh, after the freeze last week.

Weather has such an effect over our lives doesn't it?

Down here all the men are all revved up to golf, fish and car cruise next week as soon as the temps go up to normal.

Pook I used to laugh and guffaw over what people considered "cold" down here.....14 years later, I have become one of them!

This past weekend when we were out on Pine Island, many "snow birds" we're spotted wearing parkas and .....shorts, heavy socks and sandals. Of course, we overheard many conversations about feeling "ripped off" because of our cooler weather and overcast skies.

If anybody is planning a Florida getaway to escape the cold, your safest bet is the keys....It can change anywhere, and the Board of Tourism touts the average temperatures, but it can and does get chilly including Miami and Orlando.

It is no accident that you will find Disney and Epcot employees peddling hot chocolate, blankets and cold weather clothing when the temps cool down.

Poodlepet2

Here in Colorado we are still under high wind warnings. The other day all wind speed records were shattered! It's a mess around town. Fallen trees and branches all over the place. Roofs have been completely blown off some homes and office buildings causing evacuations and closings. Animal control office said they have never gotten so many calls for escaped and lost pets. No trash pick-up either...trucks were suspended from highways because of the winds. No UPS or FedEX either....all delayed. Flights are delayed or cancelled.

Icy and slick to the point where I am scared to go on just a walk as the side walks are so slick. I fell two days ago and am so sore.. I am afraid to fall again. I look so forward to 50 or 60 degrees where there is no danger or slipping.

@SeaMaiden ~ please consider purchasing snow/ice cleats that go over your shoes...no more worries, you can run to the mailbox and give your pet a "run" for their money while walking them too! QVC, Amazon and tons of online vendors carry them.

@AKgirl2 Thank you for the suggestion. I have some ice cleats....I was wearing them when I fell. It was a thin layer of black ice...not enough ice to dig into. They are useless on the ice we had that morning.
