As I understand it, Charles can be King but Camilla will not be Queen.

Why wouldn't he be? He married the love of his life and Camilla has been one of the "work horses" of the royal family. She takes the job very seriously and works very hard; much like Princess Anne. She was accepted by the public long ago and they think very highly of her. I'm not convinced that she will not be given the title of Queen when Charles takes the thrown.

I am not a fan of charles, he should had had the guts to have not married diana ,and stood up to the queen.

And do what? His grandfathers brother abdicated to marry a divorced woman, and she was married at the time.

Camilla is as royal as Kate, which means not at all. Kate is really a commoner as well. Charles deserves to be the next king, he's prepared his whole life for this.

I don't have a problem with camilla not being a royal, and think kate is just great. It is charles i have the problem with.

Charles will one day sit on the throne.

His marriage to Diana was an arraigned marriage, imho.

He was a man of a "certain age", who had not yet settled down, and produced an heir.

His wife had to meet certain criterias, and Camillia didn't.

It's interesting in watching "The Crown" to hear the history of the monarchy. Apparently while the Prime Minister is the head of government representing and responsible to the people, the monarch is a representative of and responsible to God.

Now whatever you may think of that - it is apparently the tradition.

So using that logic, it doesn't matter what the culture or the people - think about adultery, divorce, remarriage etc.

And yes of course, previous monarchs (Henry VIII certainly comes immediately to mind) certainly weren't concerned much with what God might have thought of their escapades, and examples. So it will indeed be interesting to see what happens when Elizabeth dies or gives up the crown.

He is next in line, but by the time his mother resigns or dies, he will be an old man. He is 68 years old already. She doesn't seem ready to hand it over.

He probably won't be King for very long before Williams takes over.

I think Charles is a wimp and slightly off. He has allowed his mother to take over his life and make him miserable. I am glad he finally is with Camilla, but if he loved her, he should have taken a stand and not been sneaking around with her.

I think William is a fine man and he will do very well as King. He is more in tune with the common people. William's son is third in line.

I totally agree and Charles will have to wait until she does. He's not getting any younger. I think she is quite stubborn or doesn't trust Charles' judgement.

Funny how people see things differently. I always found Charles not only attractive charming and kind hearted. Charles and Camilla love survived. Glad together at last. Charles should be King. When the time comes Prince William shall make a fine King.

I wish him and Kate a long time to live in the background, to raise their kiddies, out of the limelight, as much as possible

The spouse of the King or Queen (England) would officially be known as Prince or Princess Consorts. Under existing laws and precedent, the wives of ruling Kings become Queen consorts but the husbands of sovereign Queens do not have the right to any title. It is the reason why the Duke of Edinburgh is not known as King Philip.
