"RECOMMENDED FOR YOU"

At the bottom of the Q's face page there is this topic and pictures of things they at the Q think I would want to purchase.

Went there this morning.....and oh my gosh......the person that does this task just doesn't know what I like and what I would purchase. There was not one thing on there that I would order. From flashlights to windshield covers (which I could not get on my car).

I get e-mails daily from them.....and if I open up one of the items in that e-mail, it appears on there before I have even finished with the e-mail.

Do any of you get this at the bottom of their face page?

How funny! At the bottom of my page, I see "recently viewed items" They are all things I viewed, and sometimes it's a good reminder that there is something I want to take another look at.

I used to get them on my order status page.....some of the suggestions were a bit hilarious......

I haven't been ordering much lately from QVC so havent noticed them aqs much for few products I like and re-order online....and I unsubscribed to their emails too....

That is usually what mine is.....but today it was totally different. Yes, it is a good reminder of things I could be interested in purchasing......especially D&C items.

Yesterday I got an e-mail about the TSV for tomorrow.....a D&C lace jacket. They also had other things in that e-mail. When I viewed some of the things and opened them up to get more info, these things appeared on there last night.....but all gone this morning.

I get them there too.

I burst out laughing at those this morning. No way would an old lady(76) using a cane would purchase any of those things. There really isn't anything I need right now. LOL

I figured it was done by computer.....but none of the things on there this morning were things that I hit on the Q page. I didn't hit anything on there this morning. Just looked.....lol

Any time we turn on our computer, they (NSA) know where we are...... That's why we have to be so careful what we say to folks......even in our e-mails. Heck, even Puttin knows what we are doing......lol

You do realize there is no person doing this? It is simply a computer algorithm which places these suggestions based on your browing and purchase history.

I usually ignore them.

Yes.......I know this. But, the computer doesn't really know I have never purchased any of them.....because I haven't purchased one thing they recommended for me today...... Not a very smart computer......

I get equally ridiculous recommendations from Amazon, which partly bases its recommendations not only on what *I* have bought or looked at, but on what others who have bought what I bought have also bought. If someone bought Poems of Rumi (for example) and a chainsaw, they recommend the chainsaw to me.

All of these algorithm "tools" are a useless joke IMO.

Sometimes on amazon I have been led to better choices, however, if I just look at something because I'm curious, I don't want to see it for a year and sometimes they can't be deleated!
