Dreams

Last night I had someone appear in my dreams and it was very powerful - most of the time I don't remember my dreams but this person appeared and made a very powerful statement to me. This person is still alive, but I have no way of contacting this person. Have you ever had a strong message from someone living or dead and do you believe they are trying to tell you something?

eewww - I wish I didn't open this thread. I had a horrendous dream featuring someone who just died. I could not get back to sleep. This occurred Tuesday night.

And to answer your question - yes I do think this is a mode of communication.

Dreams are nothing more than your thoughts when you are sleeping. The reason they seem odd, and mine usually are, is we have a slightly better control on our brain function when we are awake. I had a dream a few days ago I was married to Dwayne Wayne from a Different World. Meaningless

I actually believe that I am trying to tell myself something in my dreams. I used to go to France every year but now I get my French fix by going to Québec. Between the hassles at airports and the terrorist attacks in Europe, I prefer driving vacations these days. In any case, this year I've been having dreams about France. I've "been to" my favorite Parisian restaurant and my favorite country hotel several times. I don't think the French people in my dreams are telling me something but I do think my subconscious mind is definitely communicating a message.

Many dreams are those that are trying to tell us something or guide us to a solution to something bothering us. When something is bothering me or I have been particularly anxious over something, I have vivid dreams of needing a bathroom and when I finally see one and enter the stall, either the toilet disappears or someone else is in there or suddenly the stall disappears and the toilet is in a room with others around. When I dream of my grandmother and mother I know things are going to be ok in my life. After a beloved pet dies, when I dream about the pet it always leads me to another who needs a home.

My paternal uncle told me he ran into a woman they (him and his brothers and sisters) grew up with. She had left the area years before and asked about his one brother she was friends with and would visit when she came back. She said she tried to call him but his number was disconnected. She said she had a dream about him and he told her he was too busy to get together with her since his brother was coming to stay with him. That uncle had died a year before and my father died shortly after this dream of hers.

Some dreams are just that dreams that probably have to bearing on anything - but...

I dreamt my Father died and was so happy to wake up from that dream. An hour after I woke up I was told he died. He was 58 and this was completely unexpected. I have absolutely no doubt he was communicating with me as he died. This is something I'll never forget.

No. I do not believe in this hocus pocus of dreams being interpreted or foretelling death or messages from beyond or as a comunication whatever... If it is something that you want to believe than that is your choice. People like to read more into things than are there.

Funny that you should mention this topic, as the other night I had a dream that left me laughing for a good half hour after I woke up.

I dreampt that I was at work, and we had a surprise unexpected visit from a certain v.i.p.

I was at my desk and on my computer, while this person was leaning against a doorframe, texting or twittering away on his smart phone.

I tried to make conversation by asking him when he was going to go back to D.C.

He mumbled sometime next week, and he was was going to do blah-blah-blah.

I said, "Oh, that sounds like it'll be a very busy day".

He said that it was going to be a busy day.

Then, my co-workers and I gathered around a conference table for a mandatory meeting, and that was when I woke up.

My Mother taught us that if you remember a dream after you wake up it is God sending you a message.

The last dream I had that I recall was a few months ago - I dreamed my Dad came to get me to go to Heaven. Scary but good. We walked up to heaven together and had a nice conversation.

It's hardly "hocus pocus" when a person dreamt a parent died and it happened a few hours later.

My Mom "felt" when my brother died in Viet Nam. He was listed as MIA but when someone would say maybe he is not dead she would just nod politely. She said she felt the same thing when his father was killed in WW11. She absolutely KNEW he had died. She felt she knew the exact moment it happened.

I think dreams have a lot of meanings...mostly subconscious....however I have on occasion had very strange dreams about loved ones who are gone or old friends or colleagues that maybe I don't see or talk to anymore...people who don't cross my mind anymore...so sometimes I find those really odd. I have a lot of dreams about my grandmother but I was very close to her.

I am a prolific dreamer. When I awake in the morning I always remember the dreams. I can then decide if I want to concentrate on them when fullly awake so I can write them down, or if they were one of my "Alice in Wonderland" dreams that I would just as soon forget.

For many years my mother would come to me in my dreams and we would sit down and have a conversation. I would always ask her why other people thought she was dead, and she would tell me how silly that was. She was so alive to me in those dreams and they were sometimes very long and drawn out. She would always come out from the bathroom sink, but I don't remember her leaving that way. This was an often recurring dream for many years. She died at age 49 in 1967.

My sister, who died in 2011 . . . I don't dream about her as often, but I do dream about her. We are young in my dreams, and they very much mirror how we were in real life.

I dream about my first husband, who died this past January, I dream of certain boyfriends, I dream about my job very, very often. I do not dream about my children and grandchildren very often and if I do, it's usually my oldest daughter from whom I am estranged.

Maybe I just dream about what's past and not what's present.

I dream about the ex DBF regularly. Haven't seen each other since we split years ago and I moved away.

Always a comforting conversation. Never scary, no romance, just comforting talk.

OMG.. had a huge dream with deceased mother and grandmother last night...

Is there a full moon somewhere I don't know about !!!!

I wish that I had an answer for this but I don't, this happened to me over five years ago. I had been having headaches for awhile and believed that it was my reoccurring sinus troubles. One night I had a dream and my mother spoke to me and told me that if I didn't go to the doctor that I would not make it by the week's end. This dream shook me up so much that I called my sister several states away and told her about it.

A few days later I asked my niece to take me to the ER where I was immediately rushed in and treated for a possible stroke. Thank God I didn't have one but my BP was dangerously high. I spent the next several days in the hospital (including a few in ICU) and thought about that dream for several months afterwards. I don't know if it was coincidence or if it was really her. It has never happened again.

I have vivid dreams almost every night - and remember most of them after I wake up...but the one that has stuck with me for years occurred about 10 years ago.

My father died in 1970.

In the dream I was traveling for my job and checking into a hotel.

My dad appeared in the lobby and I was so surprised and happy and said "Daddy, what are you doing here" He said "Oh I just missed you and wanted to surprise you!"

I said "Well I am that! I have to go to a dinner tonite and will be back quite late...will you still be here in the morning/" He grabbed me and hugged me very very tight and said

"Dear, I will always always be here in the morning"....

then I woke up, but could still feel his arms around me. It was the most comforting dream - bittersweet...

I have dreamed about my parents many times, but this one is the one that has stuck with me....

@hoosieroriginal...I am just curious as to why you have no way of contacting this person?...It would be very interesting as to what he/she may have to say about what you experienced.

i tend to have vivid dreams , one dearm i had this week was my aunt dot. was sitting at a table, i was there even saw the chairs,she had a picture of a man in a frame ,she was very worried about this mans little girl, my aunt passed about a year and a half ago.
