Depends where I am. In a parking lot, a parking garage, etc., first thing I do is lock my doors. At home in my driveway, I start the car and shift to reverse and let the car lock itself. Seat belt is next.

Always buckle my seat belt.

I got T boned once, and the seat belt saved me from more serious injury. I won't even go 2 blocks without buckling up.

Adjust my lumbar support and start the car. Then seat belt.

I don't lock my door ALL the time, only when I'm in places or situations I feel it prudent. When I lived in the city and went out to my car in the dark to go to work, I locked it immediately, and it was locked much of the time I was out. But in the country and small towns, not so much.

I put the car key, which is already in my hand, into the ignition, so that both hands are free to put on the seat belt .

Here in Florida you NEED to start the car to get the AC started as cars parked outside get very hot very fast. Then, fasten seat belt.

I put my right foot on the brake and push the starter button. Then I hit button #1 on the door. It adjusts the seat and mirrors for me. Then seatbelt, heat or air, music, look in rearview mirror and away I go.

In public I lock the doors. In my garage I open the overhead door.
