None of my friends have been successful on it in the long term. Everyone has re-gained the weight. Another thing I dislike about Weight Watchers is that they have no statistics as to who keeps the weight off. You still can eat anything but the points of things are higher so you tend to think it's not worth it to eat high point items that 'eat up' your daily allowance.

One thing hasn't changed enough. Oprah Winfrey is back with her zero interest commercials. She made it a point years ago to talk about the fact that she has a personal chef who makes all her meals for her. I'd be willing to bet he's still part of her WW plan. Who wouldn't lose weight with that plan? And BTW on the Rachel Ray show today she mentioned something about someone cooking for her again (unless my ears deceive me.)

I had honestly thought of joining for a while. I went years ago and reached my goal weight, got my pin, etc. But with Oprah as their spokesperson I don't think I want to play. I only want to lose about eight to ten pounds anyway and because I don't believe Oprah and her commercial remarks, I

think I'll wait it out for a while. BTW I feel the same way about Kirstie Alley. I've used other plans successfully and I wouldn't want the companies to think I came back because of the spokespersonl. Give me a real spokesperson for a change and maybe I'll be back.

You can eat anything your want but you are punished for eating a cookie and I think that is a bunch of garbage. If I want a cookie I will eat a cookie but I will only count half the points. I know most of the people at the meetings don't like that aspect either. It's easy for one cookie to be a third of your daily points. They prefer you to focus on veggies, protein and fruits.

I went years ago and reached my goal weight, got my pin, etc. But with Oprah as stheir spokesperson I don't think I want to play. I only want to lose about eight to ten pounds anyway and because I don't believe Oprah and her commercial remarks, I

think I'll wait it out for a while. And BTW I feel the same way about Kirstie Alley. I've ussed oth plans successfully and I wouldn't want the companies sto think I came back because of the spokespersonl. Give me a real spokesperson for a change and maybe I'll be back.

@Perkup...I felt the same way when I saw the new WW commercial with Oprah slinging spaghetti around in a pan. You know Oprah has 24/7 help for her spaghetti and everything else. I like Oprah but this is somewhat disingenuous to me. It just bugged me.

They changed the program because you couldn't lose weight on the old one. You can't lose weight and be happy about what you eat, pretty much.

If they say "eat what you want" that's feeding you "bologna."

I've given up on WW for a number of reasons. Number one is Oprah. The cost is also a factor. When I divide cost per pound lost, it is staggering. I've also seen them become more and more commercial. More into selling than customers losing. I've read a few articles by dietitians who aren't too keen on WW either.

Im going to do Mayo Clinic diet.

Sigh...nothing is easy!
