STAYING HOME OR PARTYING TONITE?

We never "party" on New Year's Eve. Sometimes we go out for for an early dinner w/ another couple and home by 9. This year, like many years, we are staying home with steaks on the grill, a bottle of good wine and a movie on Apple TV. It's really cold outside and the idea of being home by the fire w/ hubby and my 2 beagles sounds enticing.

What are your plans?

I am trying to remain upbeat.

This will be the first time since 1986 that I will be living in a different house on New Years Eve.

It isn't the happy place I thought it would be.

I will be home as usual.

Having lunch out with friends at noon. We're planning on eating at one of my favorite lunch spots, but, believe it or not, there's a manhunt going on in that general area right now, so we may rethink the location. I need to check and see for sure where they're looking. It's a VERY broad, congested area.

Anyway....then a very quick stop at the grocery store for my favorite pickles and then home for the rest of the day and night.

New Year's Eve is my least favorite night of the year. I'll have a phone visit tonight with a high school friend (our New Year's Eve tradition for 40+ years) and my husband and I will be asleep long before midnight unless the people behind us start with the fireworks.

Home in my pj's with snacks, bottle of wine, and tv. If I can't find anything on the tube I'll pop in some movies.

I can't wait for this year to be over, an adult beverage and maybe stay up till midnight just to make sure it's really over. I will try to be optimistic about 2017. Happy New Year to you all 🍾🍾🎈🎈

You couldn't pay us to be out amongst the crazies on New Years Eve. We'll have ouselves a quiet evening, watching the flat screen and bringing in 2017!
