As a teacher, I know that I probably overuse phrases in my classroom without even realizing it. It comes with my chosen profession of "talking for a living." Luckily, my first graders don't seem to mind.

I remember as a student teacher, being observed by my college professors. After one observation, I conferenced with her for her feedback. The one critique' was that she had noticed that when I wrote, I would use a mixture of print and cursive writing. I never realized I had this habit. I quickly changed it and have been mindful ever since then for these past 25 years. Teaching little ones, I print when I write but in my "real life", I am careful when I have to write in cursive. I think that having a growth mindset and knowing that I can always improve helps me to this day.

These hosts may not even realize the phrases they repeat. As a customer, it doesn't bother me, though. I enjoy the human aspect of it where we don't have "stepford hosts".

"I'm outta here" is now "l'm out."

"l called in sick" is now "l called out."

"Get outta here" is now "Get out."

Love it! Watching "Shark Tank" reruns on CNBC and just heard some of the sharks say, "I'm out!"
