Prices are ridiculous

The pricing at the Q is going to put them out of buiness. Learn from ToysRUs. That was the number one reason they went Chapter 11. The increases for certain brands are way out of line with the current inflation rate. IMO the prices on clothing should be about half of what they are charging. Then add $10 to that for tax and shipping. This season I realized I could shop from another company cheaper with discounts and free shipping and no tax. They also with take back merchandise after 30 days if you aren't happy. Yesterday I saw a cardigan by LOgo for over $87 plus. It looked just like all her other stuff. I have essentially stopped buying unless something is reduced and then careful to check the reviews.

I too finally slowed way down on shopping the Q. The shipping costs are a joke. And if you buy a few things it gets out of control and makes me just stop in my tracks. So many other retailers offer free shippig when you spend $50 or $100 not inflate your shipping higher. Its out of control. I am fine with it too.

I agree about the shipping. I purchased four realtree winter caps that have a led light in the front, each one is nearly weightless, they all came the other day in four seperate large boxes, I would think it would of been more practical to combine items if they are all going to the same address, not to mention a serious waste of packaging. Thank goodness our recycle pickup.

I think on some items the prices are too high. For example, a Denim & Co. "stretchy" shirt for $40.00 or a Susan Graver "liquid knit" (aka polyester) top for over $50.00 is just too much. Its called shopping for convenience and they hope for those type of shoppers. I agree though - the prices have skyrocketed.

I comparison shop if it's something I want or see somewhere else. Do your research before purchasing. With today's technology I can google info while a product sits in my cart. If it's exclusive to the Q I buy it.

I do find that some things are overpriced. But some things are not. After all it is a business, but they should really really consider taking the hit and give free shipping all the time or at least alot more than they do. And I love love logo, but if she would just reduce her prices a bit, I would be a happier shopper.

Whether we think prices are high or low probably depends on how much money we have as well as on what we value. What's ridiculously overpriced for one shopper can be ridiculously low for another or even just right for a third. Sort of like Goldilocks and that porridge!

That is correct, however value for the dollar never changes.

I agree and am surprised at some of the pricing lately. Almost all of SG's tops are $50 or above now. D&C and Quacker Factory too are going up. And the after Christmas sales.........What a joke!!!!! Not to even mention the shipping costs. Come on ladies, we can shop way better than this.

Regarding the comment about Susan Graver being overpriced. I certainly do not find that to be so. She adds many details to her items that add to the cost of manufacturing and add to the attractiveness, fit, comfort, washability and long wearing properties of the garment as well. I also find the materials she uses in her products to be superior to what I find in the department stores unless you are looking at expensive high-end lines.

I also lthink Denim and Company are in line with pricing on their lilne as well - again quallity of material, ease of washing, long wearing, etc.

What I am finding in B&M stores iis inferior material - flimsy,weird feeling, uncomfortable and will not look well after repeated washings.

QVC pricing on the lines I buy are OK with me. I am satisfied with the quallity of the material, etc. and would not want to see QVC skimp on the quallity for cheaper price. Cheap prices equal cheap products.

I also do not find $3 shipping to be out of lilne. Some sites have free shipping, but you are paying for it somehow. Free is not free in retail. Many of the places I buy from catalogs/on-line are very much higher both in shipping and return shipping. Sure I would like free shipping but not enough that I find it something to complain about in comparison with other places I shop. I have found that I am purchasing more and moe of my clothes from QVC and less and less from other places I have shopped for years.

@LindaSal I just have stopped shopping with QVC, the prices, the lack of CS, just to mention 2 of the many reasons, it is just not worth it to me anymore, I was just spending too much time fixing all the problems on my account (charging me $6.95 for returning defective product, or changing method of payment without informing me which IMO was totally sketchy), shipping charges too high, and paying full price for shipping and they combine orders in one box, I could go on and on. I know that Amazon charges a Prime membership fee, but their excellent CS, their shipping and their prices keep me coming back, I used to brag about QVC,, now I find myself warning people away from QVC telling them Buyer Beware!

I love SG. I have a closet full of her clothes. I love liquid knit and some of her other fabrics. However, my self-imposed "cut-off" for tops was $50. I won't buy hers (or any others, now that I think about it) that go over my $50 limit. I'll just shop my closet.

With some brands, I think QVC is stuck on a certain price point, no matter what the item is, to define the brand. You know, that status and luxury they often talk about. That doesn't work for me; I shop by the specific item's quality and style, not a brand name, or a good story about how the brand started.

When I want something and I find it too expensive here, I quickly do a competitive search at my other online retailers to find the same, similar, or better item. Fly London, Clarks, Isaac Mizrahi, Logo -- I cannot count how many items I have of these brands that I found at other retailers because of better prices. Or, I find a similar style in another brand and it turns out to be even better to my liking.

I like QVC, but I most definitely do not hand them my money because of their sales pitch. Just like one of my other favorites, Soft Surroundings -- I love their clothes, but refuse to pay for their $89 t-shirt, or $89 turtleneck, or $89 denim shirt, etc.

I am okay with the $3.00 shipping. Shipping is expensive, not to mention the "handling" part of it. But I agree that the prices have gotten a bit too high. $50 for a simple print Susan Graver top is too much, no matter how many times she says that the printing process is expensive. I ordered a similar top from Bob Mackie, same fabric, same detail in print and it was about $10 less at full price. If he can do that, why can't she?

One other comment -- I heard Jill say a few years ago that the reason the prices at QVC were so low was because they cut out the middle man. It was a dumb statement. QVC IS the middle man. We are not buying from the manufacturer, we are buying from QVC and having to pay all their salaries and overhead costs.

I get better values and better fit of clothing from Macy's. Many times they have free shipping on $25. orders. Beauty items are mostly free shipping. With QVC pushing the easy pay, I wonder how many people will be shocked at their bills when they come. They add up fast. They act like it's such a good deal.

The prices are fine....have no problem with them.

The shipping is another story. I did a lot of online shopping for Christmas and QVC is the only company that I paid shipping charges to.

Makes one think.
