Thanks to QVC for These Message Boards

With Thanksgiving soon approaching thought this would be a good time to give thanks to QVC for having, maintaining and monitoring these message boards.

For me, they have been a very valuable resource and so informative.

When I have a fashion or beauty question I can reach out for help, need help with a recipe I know someone will be kind enough to assist, need someones opinion - someone is always there to speak up, need solutions for household issues everyone is ready to help provide solutions, need to vent - it feels good just to have someone there to listen, we can brag and share pictures of our precious furry little friends and the greatest thing is to know we have become friends with so many strangers we never would have met without these message boards.

You're right...there are many of us who don't have much social contact and these boards enable us to stay connected with the world and communicate with people. Composing and writing threads and responses keep the mind sharp. I would miss them greatly if they were taken away.

@BunSnoop @Kachina624 I agree with both of you. Due to illness I am pretty much home bound right now and communicating here is a nice diversion from all the medical people I talk to each week. So, yes, I am also grateful to QVC for this opportunity and for monitoring the content.

Thank you to the moderators on the QVC Boards. Also I appreciate the thread of "Positive Thoughts for the Day". No matter how upsetting or confusing the world is, I find comfort and solace in those pictures with words of wisdom.

And to all posters, thank you so much for the valuable information, not only on fashion but the "how to do" solutions to problems.

cal22, I find many of these moderators have very quick trigger fingers deleting anything that is the least bit controversial. What happened to the 1st amendment ? I posted something about a particular host having crows feet and they deleted it. I mean come on. IVe seen much much worse stuff on the TMZ message boards.

I agree. You can get opinions on about anything on here. I don't always like asking my friends certain things. They will judge me, or go gossip about me,lol. None of my friends watch QVC, so if I'm considering buying something, they are not the resource I want to use. I'm more or less an elder orphan, so I get lots of comfort reading (some) these posts.

If YOU owned and operated the boards then you could exercise your first amendment rights. However QVC owns the Forums and they get to set the rules we play by.....and if folks don't like it they can go elsewhere if they desire more freedom of expression......

The host comments are at the discretion of the Moderators and if they consider it "unkind" it can get deleted or if the thread is going in a downhill direction they can close it.....Also those that I call the QVC/host defenders whine to Mods because people are "so mean" to the host....so any constructive critcism has to be delicately handled. You can take other routes to report your criticisms, either email them (at bottom of web page), or write a note on QVC's general Facebook Page, or send somethng snail mail....it will probably get more attention that way anyway....

You have to think of it from QVC's standpoint, when people cant have a civil discussion on the most minor topics, (people cant even make a suggestion in the Suggestion Box topic without being snarked and trashed on)...so what do you think would happen if they opened it up to a no holds barred forum and even accepted political and controversial subjects.....Sometimes the moderation can seem heavy handed---but QVC's sandbox and we have to abide by their rules...

I know I vent and gripe, but I also enjoy the Forums and friendships Ive made.....and Ive learned a lot too...whether talking about a product I might be interested in purchasing, sharing decorating ideas, talking sports, learning something new in electronics or wellness or sharing humorous pet stories, discussing movies/TV shows, or reminicsing in nostalgic threads....this Forum is a lot of fun.........

Nice thread! I come to these forums sometimes to "vent" but most the time for great topics & posters who are always there to share their ideas, decorating, recipes & just life in general!

I appreciate I can come here and the mods are available & most the time more helpful than calling CS!

I also enjoy the forums and commenting when I have something to say. I like reading the posters comments and statements even though I don't know them. I do recognize many names however.

I think the forums are a positive outlet for a lot of people. Before I responded I just read some of the posts which interested me. Then I decided to comment one day and now I am a regular! I try not to be controversial although there are times I do hold back!

Enjoy, posters, there is always something to discuss!!

I do enjoy chatting with other people online here even though I don't shop here currently. I have always liked beauty and fashion and like discussing them with other women who also like these things.

The boards are a nice place to interact, or just lurk if you don't care to participate. I tend not to watch much QVC once they roll out the Christmas trees, because I dislike the hypocrisy of them making so much money on a holiday whose real meaning they won't let us discuss. Once the season is over, I tend to tune in more often, but the boards are always here for me to enjoy.
