I guess the HSN deals and coupons will be going since HSN will be headed by the former QVC Japan head.

I have not paid much attention, obviously, because I didn't know about a merger with hsn. I don't watch much qvc at all, and I stopped watching or buying from hsn a long time ago. Who bought whom? I'll have to google that.

They don't mention Mike George; is he off the organizational chart? Now we call HR being the "people" person? If she's going to be in charge of communication, then she's got her work cut out for her. Maybe she can tell the CSRs about the return policy.

Thanks, @TY. I found another article that says Mr. George will stay in his present position.

I know this is naive of me to say, but I wonder what all those highly-paid execs do all day? It certainly isn't reflected in what we see on the screen. Same old boring stuff with all these people developing new RESOURCES. I can hardly wait to see THAT.

I think it is kind of sad that HSN has been bought out. I haven't bought anything from them in years but they were the first home shopping channel I believe. I wonder if someday home shopping channels will go under. Lot of competition online.

NO they did not. LIberty Interactive which is the PARENT company of QVC bought a majority interest in HSN. QVC And HSN are now like brothers in a family where the parent is LIberty Interactive.

That's the way it seemed and I think some of us have been consistent in pointing out the difference. That said, reading these articles would lead one to believe that QVC is going to be the big dog in this acquisition. The parent might be Liberty, but it increasingly looks like one of the siblings is pretty clearly adopted...

Doesn't mean anything to me. I don't we can make any assumptions about anything just from this. I just got a a Judith Ripka ring for $39, marked down from $99 and 6 Easy Pays. My first ever Ripka piece. It's very similar to sterling and real diamond ring that I have owned for many years and still love. That all I care about, the merchandise. It's J335651 in gold clad.

YOu certainly can't think that Lisa Robertson can buy QVC can you??

Anyway since Mindy Grossman left HSN this,past spring the 3 executives mentioned have been running it by splitting up responsibilities among the three of them. certainly not the norm for a business. I think they were just "place holders" to keep HSN running while the PTB at Liberty figured out what to do.

I used to be mad at Mike George but not anymore. He completely changed QVC to fit his idea of a profit making enterprise. Maybe he'll grow on you if you let him. Here's a pic of him with the caption "QVC serves up a stylish dinner in East Hampton." Hey he made it to the Hamptons. Not too shabby.
