I always wonder, while I'm watching the fashion shows, WHY do they have XS and S models showing all the outfits??? When we are told that the average women is a size 12 or larger....Of course all those clothes look good on these tall and thin models... Why oh why don't they show a few size 12 or larger women model these outfits along side the XS models... I want to know what it will look like on ME!!!! I'm not a XXS or XS OR S size women. I'm a plus size woman and I'd like to see what "I" would look like in these outfits... PLUS ..... IF you want to sell to everyone...show everyone ... not just the tall and thin...

My rant is done...thank you very much ...

You forgot to rant about the fact that not only are the models all XXS-S, they're all pushing 6' tall. I'm 5' 1/2" tall........so they're no help in that department either!!! Everything looks good on 6' tall, 105 lb. women, I'm guessing!!!???

Denim & Co. is starting to represent just about all heights and sizes, but the other clothing shows are lacking. SG had a plus size model on all day, but that is rare, she said the model lives too far away to come for just one show. I'm sure Rebecca is not the only 1x model in the area. I will not buy fashions that my body type is not represented, I can't tell you how much I've spent on returns and I'm done.

"Large" is in the eye of the beholder. To many, a size 16 or 18 or a 1X is "large", but IMO, not very. I want to see 2X models at least. QVC doesn't really want customers to see the 2X and 3X models, because of all of the clothes they are pushing desperately, esp. their "designer" (hahaha) lines, maybe 60% of them look decent on a truly large woman. There is no way they really want you to see that. Yet they clearly sell a lot of clothing to 3X women. And then there is the fact that if they do show a 2X model, the self-described "normal" women will be icked out that they might be wearing something a "fat woman" would also buy. Poor QVC.

Would you feel comfortable having size 2x or 3x models showing the fashions? Oh? ARE there many 2x and 3x models in the industry?

Think of all the jokes about "fat" or "obese" people you've heard. Many Americans equate being fat with being lazy and untrustworthy. Employers will deny jobs to an otherwise highly qualified applicant. What's worse is that the employer will get away with that type of discrimination.

We can't judge people based on their s*x, religion, ethnicity, race, or sexual orientation. But jokes and prejudice about weight are alive and well in our society.

We diminish ourselves whenever we exclude and "put down" someone else.

I guess we are lucky that QVC uses models and I realize they cannot represent every one of us, but seeing them does give us some idea how the fashions look. They look much better than the photos on the website or on a hanger.

I think they have a good variety of sizes represented. The truth is, clothing looks best on a tall slender person and that person wears a small size. The idea is not so much to show clothes on what the average customer looks like as it is to show clothes so they look their very best and will be purchased.

I find it interesting that two people assume I am "fat-bashing." You mistake my cynical sarcasm for disapproval/trash talking. I vary between size 1X and 3X, depending on what I'm wearing. My cynicism is not directed at large women, since I am one. I was saying that people often think someone who wears a 1X is huge, and anyone who wears a 2X-3X is just disgusting and who cares what they want, etc. It is often the attitude all over these forums, along with age-ism. And my other point was that if QVC had more truly 2X and 3X models, they would risk turning off/grossing out "normal" women, who think of themselves as "normal" vs. "fat", with all the typical politically incorrect commentary. I see age-ism and fat-ism on these forums and on all of the "hidden" private forums that discuss QVC and HSN. Irishrose, you have it spot on.

I realize everybody wants to see a model representative of them, but really, they'd have to fill the entire stage with models to capture every conceivable shape, size, color, disability and so on, and still there wouldn't be enough room, and STILL someone would claim they were left out...

Since the Q sells *all sizes*, I think they should have a Plus size model, at least a true 1X, in every fashion show! It would cut down in the # of returns, AND the Plus size customers can actually "see" what the garments look like on a Real person. The so-called measurements on the 'click here' feature online vary so much, and are totally unreliable. When the largest model shown is Jackie (who is stuffed into many of her "size L" things) it doesn't represent curvier women who don't dress that way. I have a much smaller waist than Jackie - I can't believe she had a 43" waist 'before', then changing into a shaper w/ 1-1/2" difference "after", on a show!

Women know that models who are XXS, S, M, will look good in almost anything but it's unrealistic of the Q to misrepresent (by omission) what the garments look like on larger-sized ladies! Quacker Factory is the only line that consistently shows Angel (a Plus sized former model) in the clothes but she is apple shaped (not all plus sized women are). I vary between a L, XL, 1X in a top and L, XL in the bottoms; I'm curvy AND I need to see Real Women modeling before I spend any more money on the Q's fashions.
