Sometime in the early 2000s, the QVC had a young female British host. She didn't last very long. I cannot remember her name. Anybody recall this person?

I do remember, but also cannot recall her name. I do, however, remember that she was absolutely awful, and they let her go rather quickly.

I remember her. She was nice but very nervous. I felt bad for her because the comments about her were cruel. I kind of liked her.

Davinia Palmer... I think she was Welsh... She took a lot of abuse from a lot of posters as I recall... If you can believe everything you read, she resigned but possibly under duress, as there were reportedly performance issues... The gig with QVC was probably just not a good fit for either her or for them... An interesting blurb about her...

Yes, I remember Davinia. I didn't care for her, I can't stand a British accent. I can't turn the channel fast enought when I hear IM rep. (I posted what she sounds like, but my post was removed, so I will just leave it at that).

Davinia Palmer and Gabrielle debuted on air the same night- January 15, 2008. While Gabrielle's mentor was Pat DeMentri, Davinia's was Jane Treacy. Davinia's last on-air appearance was October 10, 2008 with Ojon Haircare.

Yes, it's interesting how none of the references listed there on the page support the "rumors" related to her time at QVC. There is a note at the top of page issues indicating it was nominated in 2008 to be reviewed for neutrality. It notes someone associated with Davinia (or Davinia herself) edited the page, so wonder why that part about the QVC rumors was allowed to stay??? Guessing she hasn't looked at her own Wikipedia page for a while!

I didn't see very many of her presentations--not enough to form an opinion--but do remember her. Hope she is doing well.

I do remember seeing her a number of times, thinking she was pretty and trying to like her, but also thinking she wasn't doing a particularly good job as a host... Of course, that was back in the day before the frantic and frenzied hosts became the norm and they all started talking in pretty much the exact same management issued sound bites... By today's standards, who knows...

I noticed that she posted a highlight clip on YouTube and in the comments section somebody asked if it's true she was fired from QVC. She denied it and later posted this:

"The guys at QVC were/are awesome! (Not idiots at all). I quit because working at 2am/4am in the morning didn't agree with me. The overnight hosts at QVC have to come in for team meetings, product meetings and planning meetings during the day too, it's exhausting. If I could fall asleep it was in one hour windows between meetings. I wholeheartedly give my respect to those working in all jobs across the board in the middle of the night, it's tough."

I don't think they let her host much, I have always been a big watcher and I don't remember the woman.

Had Dividia trained with Pat, be her life would have been less stressful. Pat would have been a pleasure to have as a mentor! Can you imagine listening to Jane talk constantly about her Irish ancestry . . . and her family? No wonder Dividia was nervous. I rather enjoyed her accent and her attempt to work in the US with our crazy attitudes. She had guts to take on a gig at QVC!

I remember her in 2008 because I was newly arrived in this country from the U.K. and she intrigued me because of her wandering hybrid accent. It was neither one thing nor the other.

I was wondering if I would end up sounding like that!
