What is the purpose of Q2 when....

it's the same thing shown on live Q but states "previously recorded" and they are usually the same programming just 1 hour behind when I flick over.

Besides In the Kitchen with Mary are other shows different or live?

There are live a.m. and p.m. style shows, among others. You can see which shows are recorded or live in the program guide. I think the intent was for all shows to be live.

Hi @homedecor1

Thanks for asking about QVC2. We have expanded our live programming on the channel to include more live shows weekdays from 6pm-midnight ET and weekends from 10am-3pm ET.

Some of the live programming includes a 2 hour PM Style with Leah Williams on Wednesday, 2 hour AM Style with Gabrielle and 3 hour In the Kitchen with Mary on Saturday and a 1 hour Susan Graver show at 12 on Sunday.

You can always access our Program Guide online and use the dropdown to see what shows are on our QVC2 channel!

@homedIecor1 Certainly can't say what QVC thinks their purpose is, but I can tell you there have been times in my shopping life when I would have been happy to have some shows repeated. Just one example - for many of the years Lisa R hosted Monday night style, I caught maybe the last 20 minutes each week. Of course, I could have recorded it, but I just have never done that.

Now? More than half of the items I buy from QVC come from my Auto-deliveries - and those AD's represent far more than half of what I spend here. Lots of days even when I post, I'm not watching. Today I saw a few minutes of Pat and Susan but I'm done buying for June except for my AD's.

Just no needs or even any pressing wants right now. I don't need to watch anywhere. But isn't that what's happening to retail in general?

What irks me is when they have a show of a boring TSV on QVC, then a earlier show of the same product on Q2. This is not utilizing this resource wisely because I won't watch either.

when i miss a live show, i know i can usually catch a rerun of it in q2. it airs 3 hours after the live show. so it's convenient for me.

yes that's what I've encountered endless hours of the TSV on Q then I flick over & yup, a previously recorded 1 hour of the TSV.

I don't really need more than 1 Q channel. We got a brochure from our new cable provider telling us about the great shopping experience to watch Q2.

We don't get the BeautyQ channel yet that would be something I wouldn't watch.

Thank you I only need Q for my shopping needs or online. I don't normally watch those shows of fashion but I will try to remember about In the Kitchen with Mary!

Definition of boring? I totally expect QVC to run the value of the day over and over, and for all other products shown that day to pretty much be in the same category. If these products are of no interest to me I don't tune in that day. I'm not seeing the problem.

I like Q2 love In The kitchen With Mary, everyone who is on her show seems so much more relaxed and happier it may be the same products, but I rather buy from pleasant happy fun people without the"the sad" happy dance! In general Q2 is better live than QVC for some reason

Today a host was talking to Leah about her presentation on the other channel coming up.... she repeated the same vendors and products that Leah just had on her show??? So why would I want to go see that AGAIN?

I think all these channels are just confusing and not really doing much. Most viewers are not even able to see them on their TV's through their cable. I see this as an idea going bust....

If no ones tunes in because they don't want nor need the TSV and these viewers don't buy.....and that's where QVC is right now....there revenues have declined for quite a while now.............and that's a problem for QVC

"NO one tunes in"?? Retail sales are in a declining state everywhere. QVC wouldn't exist at all, much less be adding stations, if NO one tuned in. We can't ALL be interested in buying the same products on a home shopping channel, so why tune in when things aren't being presented that I'm interested in? That would be boring. That would be like ME being stuck in an Academy (hunting, fishing and sporting) store for hours. I would go crazy!

Two channels up the percentages of viewers. I can't get QVC2 but can get QVC. I imagine there are people who can't get QVC but can now get QVC2.... more opportunity for sales if there are more people watching, pre-recorded or live! Sounds like a promising leap of faith.....

What @Q4u described is essentially what's happening here. When I subscribed to cable, I got QVC but not Q2. We ditched cable and went with an indoor antenna. Now I can get Q2 but not QVC. With the antenna I can also get HSN, Evine, and other shopping channels I'd never heard of. (HSN & Evine are the actual live channels I got when I had cable--not prerecorded shows like Q2.) From what I'm hearing from people around town, there are increasingly more people ditching cable because of the significant rate increases in this area. Q2 allows QVC to be competitive in homes around here where there is an antenna but no cable subscription.
