HERE'S THE COMPETITIONS RESULTS

Here are the results for HSN....similar to QVC's .....both channels seem to be stuck in a rut! I love the customer comment on this one too....

HSN ended last year with a slight increase in revenue, posting a 2 percent gain in net sales in the fourth quarter, to $697.4 million, the home shopping network said Thursday.

“Sales grew in health, beauty and apparel & accessories, offset by lower sales in jewelry, culinary and electronics,” HSN said in a press release. “Net sales were favorably impacted by lower than historical returns in many product categories. The average price point increased 1 percent while the units shipped remained unchanged.”

For the full year 2013, HSN’s net sales were up 2 percent, to $2.31 billion.

Money talks and they have to keep the stockholders happy. I remember when QVC used to preach they WERE NOT THE MIDDLE MAN and therefore could pass savings on to us. I noticed they don't do that anymore. They take a cut just like the stores do. They buy and mark up too.

The only thing I have purchased from HSN are the reading glasses on clearance with free shipping. Now, THOSE were a deal! 8 pairs for $15!

A lot of their clothes are cheesy.

Hi lynnsy and in addition to what you said, dont they have to pay a certain fee to the cable companies too....

I bought some jewelry and was disappointed and sent it back.

I bought some shoes and was happy.....but I dont purchase from them much overall...they are on overkill with electronics and beauty like QVC......but I do like their home decor and craft shows...
