HOLIDAY DECORATIONS

Am I the only one that thinks the holiday decorations are very UNHOLIDAY LOOKING????

Call me old fashioned but I like a more traditional looking tree and wrapped gifts underneath?

Just find the sets lacking the beauty of previous holiday seasons.

I love the traditional and retro tree look. No pink, lavender, or raspberry colored lights, just the red, blue, green, orange, white colored lights. Retro decorations especially are always a throw back to wonderful memories of Christmas...Shopping as a family at the same vendor's tree lot for that perfect tree and decorating it on Christmas Eve. Seeing our Main Street decorated with lights and tinsel bells, stars, candles and santas arched across the street and on each street lamp made it feel like Christmas time is finally here! Mom baking, and cooking Christmas Eve fish dinner. My brother and I as well as children that lived in our building excited with anticipation of Santa coming. Santa came on Christmas Eve and we opened are presents on Christmas Eve as many European families do.

@AKgirl I agree about the pink, lavender and raspberry colored lights. I just want traditional lights on my tree too.

They are just too fancy and fussy for me. I would rather have more traditional decorations. A green tree and ornaments that have been on my tree for years. My Mom and Dads tree also from when I was a child. They are the best---such nice memories.

I agree that the sets aren't very festive. Dyson cleaned all of that stuff out.

I agree. Our ornaments are from my childhood and some that were given to my husband by his Mom. My children pretty much choose anything new that we buy for the holidays. We all like the traditional look.

I know. All the retailers start so early that no wonder by the time Christmas gets here we are all exhausted. Not a fan of Halloween, but I think Thanksgiving has gotten a bad rap, being almost ignored. It should be a big celebration to say thanks for all our blessings. Then Christmas for the reason it's called Christmas! Love Christmas!

My entry and house is still in fall mode and with be until the day after Thanksgiving! Christmas always manages to get here, I am just letting it get here on my time!

@bri20 No, not really. This has been happening for awhile now but it doesn't bother me. Christmas is my favorite holiday and I love all the decorations at any time of the year. After Christmas the stores will be selling swim wear when we're snow bound. That will bother me. LOL
