Years ago I purchased quite a few Judith Ripka pieces when she was in jewelry stores. I have real gold, actual gemstones even diamonds and sterling which although i realize metals have gone up, were priced right for their value. The JR jewelry on QVC is simply not worth the price, it's often simulated gemstones and stering and the prices are outrageous, the "value" in these pieces ARE NOT there, they are Punched out of a mold and simply too high priced. Moreover, QVC needs to bring in more jewelry designers, today's jewelry gemstone day is like a Judith Ripka, aka Ripoff day. Tiring and boring and overpriced for what the product actually is.

I completely agree! I get this feeling that QVC just has these boring shows to placate us. They don't really care about the quality or care to have new designers.

This is costume jewelry o a shopping vhannel. If you want fine jewelry, shop elsewhere.

This is QVC -- not Tiffany -- and clearly the products sell, so why should QVC change?

Huh? Obviously you haven't been shopping here for years like a lot of us. Not asking it to be like Tiffany's. I just want what we had 10 to 20 years ago.

Actually, it is like high end costume jewelry. Give me Charming Charlie any day! It's fun, trendy, and really inexpensive and the effect is just the same as these higher priced vendors.

Agree that HSN has awful stuff, whether it purports to be"real" or not.

I couldn't agree more @GSPgirl. I have purchased many of Judith's pieces through the years (please note the early years) and have been more than pleased until one of her bracelets literally fell apart on my wrist when walking into a restaurant.

They were more than kind about replacing it which I appreciated until I received the replacement and it was half the weight and quality of my original bracelet both the weight of the silver and the quality of the stones. To be honest, if I had known I would be receiving a sub-par piece of jewelry I would have opted for trying to see if the bracelet could have been repaired as it was a great piece of jewelry.

At that point I pretty much stopped purchasing her jewelry but do enjoy and still wear her original pieces.

More than anything, most of these posts don't criticize QVC at all --they are not so suble putdowns of the thousands of women who like Ripka's products.

I guess I have no sense of humor. I'm not particularly a fan of JR jewelry, just not my style. But titling a post as this one was is rude, IMHO, especially since it's a day that JR is featured. Just my opinion.

No @Krimpette you do have a sense of humor and a good one! I have always enjoyed your posts. Something just hit me funny about the play on words. I actually like and own some of her jewelry. I didn't even know she was featured today. Really I meant no offence to you. Sorry.

I am just sick of seeing Judith Ripka on QVC. They seem to be shoving her down our throats. Her jewelry is very expensive and all the pieces that I have ordered were returned due to the lack of quality. Please bring some new designers, show us more of the Q's jewelry brands anything but boring Judith Ripka.

When the QVC Ripka cz line of jewelry came to Canada 2 years ago it was way overpriced and that was when the CDN dollar was closer to the U.S. dollar. They couldn't call the cz stones "Diamonique" either so they called them a diamond simulant. I guess that sounds better than cubic zirconia, doesn't it?

Anyway the line didn't last long in Canada, they were gone after about a year and a half or so. I do have one of the nice silicone strap watches that I bought from TSC before the line went bye-bye. It's nice but I would never have paid full price for it.

I frankly don't see why Xcel brands bought the Ripka line, they should stick to clothes, bags, and shoes!

I own many Ripka pieces that I have purchased over 20 years. I love all of them. Some of her pieces are works of art. When I need a new piece of jewelry I look at Ripka first. Yesterday she offered natural gemstone cuffs that were all gemstones that were beautiful. I did not buy any of them as I do not need them at this moment. I appreciate her artistry. Clearly she sells a lot of jewelry at QVC. Do I think it is more expensive than it used to be - absolutely. So is everything else. Do I like the high prices? Of course not. Everything at QVC is a lot more expensive than it used to be.
