Notification Problems

@Brittany-QVC @Beth-QVC @Susan-QVC @Alice-QVC or whomever!

Help! My notifications work to notify me when someone hearted my post, but they do not work when someone is addressing me @Pearley

This has been going on for two or three days now and just happened again - I missed a callout from Trudey - I had to go look for it because I didn't get notice of it!

Would you please see why the @Pearly notifications are not working and fix? Thank you!

@Brittany-QVC And here's the ironic part - I did get notification of your callout @Pearly! Maybe the mods have magic posting powers! It's the first notification of a callout I've gotten for days! As I posted, just earlier today I didn't get Trudey's, nor have I been getting hers at all this week (among others).

I'm sure if you requested a spa day, the Q would merely refer you to the numerous bath and body products available that Q sells, and remind you that you can get three EZ payments using the Q card.

@Pearlee, Has this been fixed? I used a notification to you in the thread, "Celine returns to the stage...tears.." last night, and I'm trying it here, too.

This might not have any bearing on it, but I've noticed a few posters saying they're not seeing the usual pop-up list when they type the "@" sign. Instead, evidently, they're able to just type the "@" and the name and after they submit the post it generates a notification -- I can't duplicate that. However, if I type "@Pearley" (without the quotation marks), I get a pop-up list with 2 "Pearleys."

The first one is not in bold text, the second is in bold text and is the correct one. Some posters might be choosing the first one and, as a result, your account isn't getting the notification.

(If you'll do a search in the User file for "Pearley," you'll see there are 2 results and I have a feeling the system uses the first one as a default. This link should take you directly to that user search: http://community.qvc.com/t5/forums/searchpage/tab/user?q=Pearley)

Hi, @dooBdoo@ First, thanks for letting me know about the other Pearley. I had no idea. I'll take this up with Social Team member Beth, who has been working with me trying to restore my original Pearlee name. She never mentioned that there were two Pearleys and I honestly don't know how that was allowed to happen. I appreciate your letting me know and yes, I guess some of the @Pearleys could be going to the other one - great point.

I have received your notifications of my callout on this thread, but not the Celine Dion one. Thanks for take the trouble to help me out and, again, for alerting me to the other Pearley name. You can stop testing now - thanks.

I haven't been getting all of my notifications either. I think I get most of them but not all. I will just happen to read the thread where I'm mentioned and see it.

interestingly, i JUST went back to a thread i posted on in the kitchen forums. i had four hearts on a post and they are not showing up in my notifications at all.

@sunshine45 I did not. I only saw it when I decided to read this thread again. I also have not been getting any of my callouts from @Trudey. I get notified when she hearts one of my posts, but not when she uses the @ symbol. I don't appear to be having trouble with the "heart" notifications, just the @ notifications. Thanks for doing this, Sunshine45 - I know now it isn't just Trudey's I'm not getting. Did you get notification of my callout to you, Sunshine45?

My notifications were working this morning, but now they've stopped. I was just reading a few threads, and I have hearts and also "@" notifications, and none of them show up in my Notification Feed. If this is system-wide, that means the moderators aren't receiving notifications, either.

(Funny sidebar: With all the complaints about the new platform... now that we have the notification system, we notice right away when it stops working, even though we didn't have it in the past. So, at least, there's one new feature we like better than the old forum platform.)

@Pearlee, I didn't receive a notification for this post or the one prior to it. According to my Notification Feed, the last "Hearts" or "@+nickname" notifications I received were 7 hours ago, so that might be a clue to when the system started to fail for many of us.

I do know if someone has 'hearted' your post & you return to edit the same post, a notification will go to the poster who hearted your post...EVERY time you return to edit. HTH!

@sidsmom, The duplicate notifications aren't triggered by hearts. What happens is: if you post a comment and use the "@ plus nickname" notification within the comment... and then go back and edit the response, every time you edit and submit the response it triggers a new "@ plust nickname" notification. This started happening months ago, and the moderators acknowledged that it's a glitch in the system.

(By the way, I just edited this post a couple of times to see if it would generate any notifications at all.)

to all who notified me on this thread, NO i did not get the notifications.....so both my notifications AND hearts are not working.
