Delivery Status not Updated

Yesterday my package said "out for delivery" but I didn't receive it. This morning it says "delivery status not updated." Is my package lost? Not sure if the post office delivers mail on Christmas Eve. Has this ever happened to you?

The post office does deliver on Christmas eve. At least where I live.

Maybe it got lost in the back of the truck? That does happen. I had a girl deliver a package in a personal vehicle yesterday.

I've had that happen before with the post office. After seeing my package was out for delivery and not receiving it I called our local post office towards the end of that day before they closed and they said it would be delivered the next day which it was.
