It seems that lately packages I have ordered from companies online are using Amazon as their shipper/deliverer. I don't like that because it just adds to the chance that packages will be late or wrong. As others have said, things that are supposed to arrive in 1-2 days are now being delayed. One of the reasons we pay so much for Prime is to get the quick shipping, which isn't so quick anymore. I am sure I will still keep Prime, but I am not too pleased right now with Amazon.

I got 3 packages today (ordered yesterday) from Amazon and no surprises. Just what I ordered. Oh well maybe tomorrow's package will have a surprise. I would have liked the cat food.

We order from Walmart just about every week. There have been many times when we've gotten extra "surprises" included with our order. When I get in touch with Walmart about the extra goodies, they always say "keep it, donate, or discard".

I don't order much from walmart. Just parrot seed mostly. Amazon don't have Parrot seed that is reasonably priced. I do shop at Walmart often. I also get my dog food from them. It is tooooo heavy to carry.

Q CS asks to" SEND IT BACK! "It has happened a few times I received two nice handbags once from Macys and they told me to keep or donate the extra one.

I once had a 12 pack item that the box clearly said. Do not open, sold as a set, there was a missing item. I asked to have them credit one piece, they credited the entire 12. Didn't expect that, but it was nice.

We rescue cats — Thu, 25 Jun 2026 15:28:04 GMT

We just started using WalMart order pick up since my husband is out of commission. I ordered and picked it up, got home and the pie that I planned on serving for dessert was replaced with a package of Kraft cheese . . . LOL!

I give Amazon kudos in one area that I've not forgotten and of which I am super appreciative.

The day my dog died was the day my monthly supplies from them was arriving. A couple of hours after my beloved Golden died here comes my order, including a 30# bag of dog food (over $50!).

I decided to call them at some point and just tell the truth and ask if there was a way to return it because that's a lot of money for me and I couldn't use it. They were so kind on the phone and they said don't bother with returning it but gave me a full refund and said to just donate it or give it to someone who could use it. Who knows how that would go now, but I was eternally grateful for that kindness at the time.

I was able to find a place to donate it, so that was also good.

@chickenbutt

We had the same incident several years ago not with Amazon but with Chewy's we had to order special canned food for kidney care for our elderly cat who passed at age 14 y/o. I had just ordered a case and had to notify CS if I could return and the reason why, they in turn sent me a complete refund and told us to donate the food or to choose however we wanted. My hubby took the case of food down to our vet and asked them to donate the food to cats that needed it and not to charge the pet-owner's for it.

Icegoddess — Thu, 25 Jun 2026 18:23:36 GMT

@SoCal Bred I'm in that situation right now. My cat was on a special GI diet. The canned food was Potato & Rabbit. Since he responded so quickly to that and the Hydrolized Protein/Urinary SO dry food I think we all came to the conclusion that he was allergic to poultry. However, trying to find a cat food that doesn't include poultry in the ingredients is nearly impossible. His food came from the vet's own mail order service and they wouldn't deal with Chewy.

I had to let him go Saturday 3 months short of his 19th Birthday. I, too, had just received a case of his expenive canned food. They did refund me and told me to just donate it. I'm going to ask around in the local pet group I'm in on Facebook and see if there's a rescue that might need that specific a diet. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt my other cat, but I'd rather it go to someone that really needs it.

i also had most of a bag of his dry food, but I no longer have the bag and my other cat eats it since his last physical they became concerned he might need to get on a Urinary diet. When we run out of that, Ill get him on just the urinary version. He's not as picky an eater as my other cat was.
