QVC Food

Do a lot of people buy the food offered on QVC?

Sometimes I see things that look really good but I don't order it. Mostly because it is very expensive and I worry about how it will arrive.

Assuming it is packaged properly it should be OK. But then I think about how to dispose of the packaging.

I've ordered Cinnamon crumb cakes from Jimmy the Baker before they cut the size down, and they were delicious.

Also have gotten bacon wrapped stuffed turkey breasts and bbq pork loin from Corky's and both were outstanding.

All those were TSV's and I also had a coupon I could use at the time, so it cut the price significantly.

Yes, I do buy food items from QVC. I have only been disappointed with 2 items, and frequently order steaks, burgers, Cheryl's cookies, potstickers, Mrs Prindables apples, cinnamon rolls, and bagels. Everything has arrived in great shape and I've never needed to ask for a refund.

As for disposing of the boxes and styrofoam coolers, I fold the boxes flat and use a box knife to cut the coolers in slices to fit easily into my garbage bags.

I've never bought any food from the Q and I personally don't know anyone who has. I suppose if you want ultra-processed food that is hard to find in your area then it might be a good option rather than having to drive far away to get it, with the cost of gas and all, so the cost wouldn't be too much in comparison.

@Susan345 I do buy food from QVC..Most of the time expensive. but at least I kinda know what I'm getting. If you receive a food item and it has thawed or you don't like, just send to QVC Social Team or call them and let them know and they will refund or replace..I have done that with mostly a thawed item and it was no problem for a refund. Usually they are very well packaged with the styrofoam cooler, etc. AND Food ships for Free

I just put styrofam containers in my trash with no problem

I never have and never will. A significant part of the cost has to go into the "free shipping" so I can shop at my local Whole Paychecks, uh, Foods, and get at least if not better quality and not wait for delivery. BTW I don't do much shopping at WF but stick to Jewel supermarket and Trader Joe's.

I know many people do not have a choice of where they shop so I suppose QVC's food is a good option for them.

@Susan345 - I'm always purchasing cookies, chips, and other goodies for my grands. For what they're getting and the free shippping/convenience factor, it's worth it for me.

I've had several items. Entroms and Lindt and some stuffed chicken breasts. One item arrived thawed, they replaced it in two days. Usually get Rastellis prime rib for the holiday as well. It's not a need, it's a want.

I don't eat the type of food Q sells. High in fat, sugar and sodium and highly processed with chemicals. No way.

Yes, we do. We have purchased the Egg Harbor Salmon, Jimmy the Baker products, steaks, bread loaves, lots of bagels, Roar drinks, etc. We have been very happy with all of our food purchases

@Susan345. Qvc food is expensive because it's prepared for you and shipped, often by second day air. You're paying for these services as well as the food.

If there's a problem with a food order, you just call cs for a full refund.

I take the box and packing materials and drop it in my garbage can.

This is all about the convenience factor ... just like getting food at the deli or having a pizza delivered to our home.

They have the shipping all worked out, and they can be great gifts to send to someone who doesn't get out as much as they used to.

Yes, love the Egg Harbor salmon, Rastelli steaks, Corky's bacon wrapped turkey breast with stuffing.

The only one we've purchased that is processed is the stuffed turkey breast and those are eaten few and far between.

The other meats are not processed and taste very fresh especially the salmon.

We toss the packaging into recycle.

Thanks for all the replies. The reason I asked is because many years ago I bought Honey bell oranges and they were horrible and it was hard to get a refund.

Also, I question packaging because I need help with taking out the trash and I get a prescription that is packed in Styrofoam and is over done and too heavy for me to lift.

Up until last Thanksgiving I always ordered the 3 St. Clair sides. I wouldn't hesitate to do so again. Is it expensive? Yes. Does it allow me a little less to worry about? Yes. Priceless. I've tried all the Thangsving offerings around here and I didn't like them. The St. Clair dressing has the same flavor profile as mine. So, if you don't like it, you wouldn't like mine either. But, it's what I'm accustomed to.

Most of their food items I do find too expensive, but if I lived alone, I would probably buy a lot of it. It's really difficult to try and put together a meal for one. Once you buy ALL the ingredients to make it yourself, and then you end up with a bunch of leftovers which may or may not be freezable and come out the same from frozen, it's just not worth my time especially since I don't enjoy cooking.

So, you have to consider what's your time worth to you. I'd much rather be outside working in the yard, weather permitting.

Living in the South, I would want to avoid ordering anything that needs to be kept cold during the summer though.

I am on auto delivery of two separate shipments of the Faroe Island Salmon filets. they are delicious. I eat one about 3 times a week

My favorite way to cook them is with a locally made Italian dressing dollup on top, sprinkles of dill, capers and then topped with thin lemon slices.

Cook in counter top oven about 14 mins, so delicious!

How do you cook yours?

ABSOLUTELY! . Since I stopped driving and sold my car, I depend on my supermarket, Amazon and QVC for delivery. It's so easy to use this service even though it may cost more.

I don't worry about the trash!

I always keep two styrofoam containers in the trunk of my car. I use them for frozen food or cold items like milk, butter, eggs. Everything stays cold which is great now that it's hot out. I also use them when I buy a rotisserie chicken. The chicken stays warm till I get home.
