FUNNY!

Just thought this was kinda funny, so figured I'd share:

Last night I had my cell phone in my lap - I always play games when watching TV. Brody, my GS was turning in for the night so I called out to him telling him how much I love him. Suddenly I heard this really nice man thanking me so much for my kind words...we live alone.

Lo and behold, it was the AI on my phone responding - apparently thinking I was speaking to 'him'!!!

Guess we all appreciate a little love and praise So, you may want to say something nice to you AI someday!!!!

And, MAYBE, I mmight get accustomed to all these modern conveniences someday!

HAVE A NICE DAY EVERYONE...and AI...

That is funny. However, I hate that these devices are listening to us, and I try to avoid that whenever possible.

My sister was telling me that she has the Progressive app on her phone. The app knows when she (or her husband) are driving and will make comments about, "speeding," or "that was a hard stop," etc.

I said "NO WAY, NO HOW" do I want to be tracked like that. Big Brother is watching.

I sometimes wonder what it says about me that I always say thank you to Alexis. Am I too comfortable interacting with whatever Alexis can be classified as.

As a note there is no way I believe AI is actually intelligent. Artificial yes, intelligent no.

When the devices are "tracking" you, they are not really tracking "you."

They are tracking a spot on the web, they don't know it is "you."

You are just a number....a random number, not a person with a name and address!

One thing I can say about Jane is that she is so confident in herself that she can be herself and not care what viewers think. The other day I was on facebook and she came on a post from qvc. She had just taken a long walk and was sweating, no makeup, and she proceeded to talk without a care about how her appearance was viewed. I only wish I had that confidence in myself. I was never one to just run out to the store or whatever without making sure I looked "okay" in my eyes. Im sure no one else really cares, but it is just me.

Adding my two cents to this post, I saw her last night and wondered what the heck was going on with that streak of grey across her forehead. At first I thought it looked like a headband, lol.

Funny! I also play games on my phone when I watch TV and when I check in here, too. I often think that I am more deeply etching in my forehead lines when I look over the top of my reading glasses if I hear something on TV that catches my attention.

I decided a long time ago I was not going to have any listening devices because of the tracking. I don't do face time etc. I will also put a piece of tape on my laptop where the camera is. I love technology, but also resent my information being out there. I can't keep it away, but I will continue to try.

@Zhills Well if my sister says that her auto insurance rates can and do go up and down based on how they are driving, I think they are tracking a person with a name and address.

Actually they are tracking a device in the vehicle! They don't know "who" is driving, just how it is being driven!

Personally I think it's like a nosy neighbor, a little frightening.

And I don't think this technology has the right to watch us, track us, or whatever it is they are doing.

Invasion of our personal privacy.

We do not have Alexa, DH doesn't want it and I agree with him. It's bad enough that we have Apple phones and watches that 'listen' and monitor, they sort of worry me.

Creeps me out a bit, but I admit I'm a bit of a "privacy nut". Yeah, I know ... good luck with that.

I recently read that you could be tracked via Wi-Fi from your TIRES on newer cars.

Seriously, do I need a car that has wi-fi tires?

Everybody knows about it, and you feel you're being attacked from everybody that could make a dime!

There's little that is not known about all of us.

When I make a purchase, all kind of better offer appears on my computer.

I'm afraid there's no such thing as "privacy" anymore.

I think it's out of control completely -

Besides, Who needs all this information on all of us?

Our cell phones already track us, wherever we go.

I truly think it is an invasion of our privacy.

And totally unnecessary.

To me this AI stuff is a bit creepy....one time me and several friends were having a conversation in the living room and my phone was on the kitchen counter and Alexa joined in the conversation without anyone even asking.... 🤖 MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS ALEXA!!!

There's a commercial that to me which predicts the future....the guy is chatting with his AI device and at the end of the conversation he tells AI..."i like you" and AI replies "i like you too"...I think a lot of people will sadly have only AI friends instead of real humans....AI is starting to be viewed as a real entity and not just an IT device. 🤖 😔

I've also read that your insurance company can monitor your driving habits and how often you go over the speed limit.

If you speed regularly, expect a rate increase.
