All retailers do this now, including Target, Walmart, Sephora, Macys, etc. for brand name items.

I have no problem with it because they're still valid reviews. Where would QVC get reviews on an new item if not from the vendor's website? They absolutely cannot be fake or that would be an FTC violation. They'd probably get caught in a few days.

I'd much rather see reviews from multiple sources than the ones just from here that sometimes complain about the shipping, the presentation or from someone that didn't buy the item.

@skittles2 Do not know where you shop but just about every website has these incentivized reviews. You have to comb through th reviews to read ones that are not incentivized. I take reviews with a grain of salt, How do you know if the review is even honest? Are you aware that companies pay people to write reviews? Did you buy products before there were reviews?

Those reviews from non-QVC purchasers makes me think it's all a bunch of B * S.

@Tori3569 I disagree about outside reviews all being "valid". If they are incentivized, as the OP mentions, they are invalid as the writer was basically bribed. I was looking at reviews for a cosmetic product here recently and all of the positive reviews at least did mention that the reviewer had received the product gratis.

Those I immediately dismissed.

I would not expect to find reviews of a QVC product from a vendor's website on QVC and it absolutely raises suspicions when I do see them.

I think QVC should only allow reviews from customers who have purchased the product here.

I do agree about the annoyance of reviewers complaining about shipping, presentation and general customer service. Product reviews are not the place for those issues.

I understand your point of view; however, many are on items that have been around for a long time. And there have been vendors found to have had reviews sent by their employees, and the owner encouraged it. This has happened with a few companies.

I was trying to reply to someone, and had to edit. Apparently, I edited my original post so much that I deleted it by mistake.

I don't know if there's a copy somewhere; hopefully, anyone who comes here has a clue what's going on.

I know most every shopping site is doing this, and I also shop on the brand's website and read some of those reviews as well.

What I would like to see happen, and I've seen it on other websites, and appreciate it enormously:

If they insist on other reviews, have an option to click all reviews, Q members, or other sources. I don't want to read a bunch of incentivized reviews, most of which rave about a product; occasionally, there are reviews that don't give four stars or above.

Most incentivized reviews, and those from influencers, are glowing because they want to continue receiving free products, etc.

I know these things happen because I know two people who are both influencers and receive free products from a large online seller and many private brands.

They've told me that the more favorable you are on a website or product, the more products you'll receive , and the more social media likes and followers you gain, which in turn increases your offers to review more products and so on and so on.

I occasionally like to read some brand reviews, but I don't want to scroll through dozens and hundreds to get to someone who hasn't received an item for free or isn't profiting in other ways, but I understand when you click on someone you think has no affiliation other than a consumer giving an honest review, may in fact be a family member, an employee or someway connected to the brand because it has definitely happened in the past and probably will always happen.

In the end, I'd really appreciate the choice to read various reviews instead of scrolling, scrolling, scrolling....👀 👀 👀

I agree about not wanting to read how something was delivered by whatever Company, or QVC customer service. Don't get me wrong. I would absolutely contact QVC customer service if there was a problem with Delivery, the product, or anything else that ultimately customer service has to correct.

I've always found them helpful over the years (about 30) of shopping at Q. I've rarely had problems exchanging or returning, and I've never had pushback.

I like reviewers to know it would be especially helpful when there are items with different scent choices, flavors, or colors, etc., to mention what they have in the review.

Thank you for asking. I left a reply stating that my original post is missing. It may have been confusing; hopefully, this will help.

I was trying to edit another reply. However, I have a very hard time doing it with Safari. Sometimes it takes me to the reply, but it still doesn't show the edit option even after selecting Edit from the drop-down box.

I think, with all the finger movement between the drop-down box and the edit field, I accidentally hit delete.

Basically, I was saying I do not like looking at an item that shows many, sometimes in the 100s, five-star reviews. When I click on an item, it takes me to its webpage here at Q, for example, when reading the reviews, it's mostly from the brand's website, with very few from Q members.

I have to scroll through numerous pages to find a Q review.

Anytime I see a ton of five-star reviews, especially those with a low number of review entries, it makes me leery, reminding me of past vendors who've used employees, friends, and family to write glowing reviews.

We've had that happen here with at least one vendor, and I'm sure it's happened with many others throughout history.

I also do not trust influencers and those who get products gratis.

The reason I say this is that I have a few friends who are influencers and receive free products, and those who only review, no social media videos. They told me the higher you rate a product, the more products the brand sends you, and your social media platforms receive more likes and followers. Other brands see that and reach out to send you their products. It's a never-ending cycle.

Now I trust that their reviews are accurate; however, they do have a lot of products gratis, so maybe not so accurate after all......

What I would love to see is for QVC to give us the choice of which reviews we'd like to see, a drop-down bar, like a lot of places have, which allows the consumer to select, say, five-star or one-star reviews, etc. Give us the option to see

all reviews,

QVC member reviews,

or brand reviews.

I'm tired of scrolling and scrolling to find a handful of Q member reviews.

I don't only look at Q reviews; I also look at some of the others posted on Q and various brands' websites.

I'm not saying to get rid of non-Q member reviews, just give us a choice so we're not wasting time, page after page, trying to find a Q member review.

Thanks again for your post. Hopefully, it helps explain why no posts show up. Also, I'm not worried about members' POV, that's what a message board is about. And I appreciate you mentioning that because sometimes members do worry about negative replies on their thread.🌻

This company charged me twice and refused to return the difference
