Am I the only one who thought no way should Amy be advertising the TSV yesterday. If you did not know she had a chemical peel, I would have thought it was from that. Poor planning for sure.

No. Red light masks do not cause the skin to peel.

ETA-

Red light masks are high-tech beauty devices. Understanding how they work is helpful and for someone who doesn't understand the technology then making assumptions about what a mask will do is not acceptable. I've used red light devices for a long time. I know a lot about them.

Did a littlr research. This model does Not treat Roscea as other brands do which was not addressed by the product Rep nor QVC Hosts . Also no warnings such as those with Discoid Lupus should not use .

Those pictures of so called improvements did not seem so drastic to me

I knew I wasn't interested in the item and I don't watch Amy but I understand what you're saying and agree. The casual observer would think twice. Like others on another thread, I question the judgement associated with having a chemical peel knowing one then had to go on TV, especially when promoting beauty products. One also has to question QVC's judgement in not doing a host shuffle.

They can't discuss medical issues when presenting products on-air or state that a product can treat a medical problem.
Most red light therapy masks reduce inflammation which is part of having rosacea. I don't have rosacea but I have a considerable amount of redness b/c of an AI condition I have. The mask helps reduce the redness a lot and that's mostly why I use it.

When someone knows they are scheduled to be on air, a fresh chemical peel isn’t something you “time wrong.” It’s a choice. And when that choice is paired with a speech about how the one thing she doesn’t like is when people don’t fess up to what they have done, it starts to feel less like transparency and more like sales‑persona spin, and yes, attention‑seeking.

I think QVC approved of the “honesty” angle. That whole If I’m transparent about this, “trust me” vibe fits perfectly into the sales pitch.

I was diagnosed with Rosacea many many years ago....I'm not sure if it was a misdiagnosis or not but I initially started using red light for that (partly) maybe close to 20 years ago and no longer have issues with it.....

As far as Amy, yes, her face was a hot mess (I said that on another thread...it looked like she had a skin beard) but it's not a big deal and she handled it very well, I thought. No biggie IMO.....

Also, she didn't hide the fact that she had a chemical peel....

Probably true. Of course she might even have gone on to suggest the peel was less cosmetic and more medical to address the little acne problem she seems to have from time to time, which might have incurred still more adoration from those already inclined to offer it...

@Bonkers1 There is one with a 4.9 rating on Amazon now 30% off. $50.00. You chose the light color. Red, purple, yellow etc.There was one poster who wanted specifically a yellow light. I didn't think to check there?

I got an Omnilux for myself for Christmas. I really like it and I've used a couple different kinds in the past. You can buy the Om and other colored light therapy masks using your health savings account if you have one. Check at the retailer's website.
