Why does QVC cost more than the regular store…

The Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 bundle for Nintendo Switch just came out in stores a few days ago at $69, but it is $76 at QVC. I wanted to buy it on QVC because I have a few dollars in credit. I don't understand why it costs so much more though.

They always have been more expensive and when you request a price match they will laugh in your face as they did to me and their reply was feel free to shop where ever you choose. In other words if you find something less expensive somewhere else by all means buy it at that store. I always do a price check on everything I see on Qvc. If someone wants to be ripped off, buy at Qvc.

Do the other stores provide videos of hosts describing features of the clothes and pictures of multi-size models wearing the clothes?

Things usually cost more b/c when you buy something from a homeshopping network then you pay for everything else that comes with that such as the hosts' paychecks, their vacations, the models' paychecks, the TV presentations., the TV crew...you get the idea.

@Dennieee. There's no way anyone here could answer your question since we're all customers just like go. Go buy it where you get the best deal. QVC does not price match.

I have found price differences of at least $100 at Patricia Nash and have found Clarks, Revitaligns, and Skechers also at lower much lower prices.

I remember asking a Barnes and Noble employee why the books were so much more in the store than online. He said: "To pay our salaries, lights, etc."

I guess I would have thought that somehow we didn't have to pay for that as customers, but it makes sense.

And I do appreciate being able to look in the store. It is always a good experience.

QVC has things a "brick and mortar" store can't have.

Still I do think that QVC tends to overprice their overpriced stuff.

you're right we are paying for the studio lighting fixtures and the robotic camera equipment and yes the salaries of everyone.

QVC itself used to say their prices were so good, b/c they were in millions of homes, had no middle man, and passed the savings on to their customers.

Actually, some other retailers do provide videos and numerous pictures on their websites, and they also have to cover real estate costs, plant maintenance, utilities and staffing for all their store locations, on top of the same corporate, warehousing and shipping costs that QVC covers. So no crying me a river for poor QVC's overhead.

well, if you purchase it from QVC today it is free shipping and you have until january 1st to return it. do the other stores have that option?

at gamestop it is $70 plus $7 ship to home.

and you know what's funny about that...I checked and the few things I had wanted to buy qvc had raised their prices which quite sufficiently covered the free shipping. So, I bought nothing.

i do not understand this thread.

i can do a google search on an item and find 10 different prices.

and certainly not new

it's called price shopping.

example eggs are 4 differenct prices within my shopping radius

I don't think a difference of $7 that significant to stop some people from buying from a retailer they're comfortable with, trust, and can easily use easy pay. The use of easy pay is important to some.

Personally if I wanted a new electronic I would wait a couple of days and see if Amazon, or anyone of the many other retailers competing with them, offer during Prime days.

Everything that I've purchased thus far during Free Shipping weekend are stable (items I have previously purchased) or lower; many, many clearance items have price reductions!

Other than food I only buy during Free Shipping and almost always clearance items. Works out for me, as there is nothing I need urgently and can wait.

Nothing on my Wish List increased in price for this free shipping weekend.
