Wen and losing hair

Has anyone had problems with their hair thinning and falling out while using Wen? I've used it for a couple years and have started needing to use Rogaine. My hairdresser said she has another client who used it and lost a lot of her hair, stopped and it finally grew back.

There was a potential lawsuit pending in this regard. Apparently it is a very common problem with quite a lot of Wen Users. Check out Gunther Renky/Wen lawsuit

Google Wen complaints hair loss --- tons of people losing their hair. I could never understand all the people that luv it.

I lost hair using WEN. I did not have any problem prior to using the product, and now, about a year after stopping, I've had it grow back. I did everything I could think of, mixing formulas, easing the amount, etc and it made no difference. One of the worst side effects IMHO (for me) was how greasy and flat my hair became. It wasn't greasy, didn't feel greasy but looked it. Then I saw the pictures from our family reunion last July 2014 and the pictures said it ALL. Again, I tried everything, every formula in every conceivable way to make it work. I spent a LOT of money.... it didn't work for me.

Yes. I know there used ot be lots of threads devoted to Wen topics, not sure if they were saved after the Forum overhaul. The tips from other posters here are good ones -- do an Internet search and see all the tons of info on the Wen lawsuit(s).

I used Wen for three months, my hair fell out (left me nearly bald at the crown of my scalp, and much thinner on the sides). I even tried the children's Wen thinking it was gentler, but that was no different. I wrote to Chaz Dean, I wrote to Wen customer service, never received a response. All that talk about "just call us, we'll help you" is just a sales pitch when it comes to that topic. At the end of the three months I stopped using it all. Ten months after that, all my hair had grown back. Good luck.

Thank you! I have used different ones and mixes. I have so much of the stuff. What a waste of money. I'm not going to use it anymore.

I sold on eBay all the bottles I had that were sealed and I've used up the other formulas I had left over in the shower on my legs and arms and it was a decent cream to apply however I can't stand most of the scents, Fig being the worst (for me, smells like what downtown Morocco would smell like)... the Menthol scents actually make my eyes water... I really tried with this product because SO many people hyped it as one of the best....

Oh that one fall scent with Apple Spice was horrendous!!! I'm thinking about posting them on a FB garage sale site. Someone can have them all. I'm done with Wen. I wish I had wised up sooner. My poor hair.

I used WEN for years with great results, but all of a sudden my hair started thinning in the front. I stopped using the product and started taking a supplement called Healthy Skin Hair and Nails from Andrew Lessman. A year later, my hair is thicker than it's ever been, that being said my husband still uses the WEN, but he takes supplements also.

@Q4u Have you noticed that Chaz's hair looks greasy?? My husband says he needs to wash his hair. 😂😂

Yes! I've noticed Chaz's hair looking greasy for a long time, even before I started using it. If it's like mine was, it really isn't greasy to feel, but looks that way. I've also noticed the last time the WEN gals were on with him that several of them (I remember Kerri(sp)?) the model, her hair was separating and looking greasy. To be fair some of the models' hair looked spectacular but two or three did not..... IMHO....

I'm *SO* glad I saw this post! My hair stylist actually asked me at my last appointment what I was using at home (I've been a WEN-only user for a couple of years).
When I explained that I used WEN products (mostly sweet almond mint), she very kindly - but firmly - said I needed to change to something else. Today.

She was noticing that my hair was thinning! She didn't really care what else I used but needed to use something else - for everything - not just shampooing. She apparently had done a ton of research on the ingredients and the only thing she could come up with was that it might be the "protein" they use (although she noted that she had a HECK of a time trying to get a complete list of actual ingredients).

Hopefully, she'll notice an improvement over the next few months but it sounds like it may take up to a year before the hair starts to come back?

I bought many bottles of different kinds of Wen from QVC , used it for a few months and really got alarmed when my hair became thinner and thinner at the front and or crown and sides.

I used it as directed, yet my hair never looked good, never got compliments, always thought my hair looked greasy and dirty as if it hadn't been washed for a week or more,

I never wrote on this forum as I did not want the back lash people get from the "Wen lovers" here. I stopped after a few months and have used Alterna and a few of the more expensive and I call better brands, yet my hair is slow to return, it is so very painfull for a woman to loose her hair,I so understand what you are going through.

For me, I noticed clumps of hair (mine is long) in the bathtub. Quit using WEN and started taking BIOTIN 5mg and finally getting back to normal. I used only the Seasonals so these were Soy-based and not wheat. Some users love WEN so perhaps it's how our bodies react to certain chemicals/proteins.
