I have noticed that when you look at reviews on an item, the reviews are not listed by date received but listed as highest rating to lowest. Was it always this way? I get the logic; when you want to see how people liked something you will first see all the positive highest rated reviews and you usually don't keep reading to see the negative. I see you can choose lowest to highest but I think they hope you don't do that. I realized it when it said the item I was reading reviews for said 3.2 stars but everyone I was reading said 5 stars. Kinda deceiving on their part.

Before I read reviews, I put the sort feature on 'most recent'...

There is a sort feature list but sometimes it's hard to find, at least on my computer. Sometimes it's near the top near the description and other times I have to scroll down through a lot of "suggestions" to find the list.

I always read the lowest ratings first. Always.

@Catch71 This is standard practice with most all retailers. They usually put the top ratings or most relevant (which just happen to be top ratings) first. I always go to Most Helpful first. These tend to be the most beneficial to me. Then I often use the search Filter Reviews when I look for something specific to the item. I really like "soft" clothing so I usually use that word.

I also do not find it "deceptive" as they offer many ways to filter the search.

I don't find it deceptive either. I always sort. But what I really don't like is when a product (happens here and also Amazon) i where the majority of reviews state they received the item for free for posting their honest reviews. I wish there was a way to sort those reviews out. There are beauty items I see on Q that often do this.

I know how to filter them; just my opinion they do this to hide bad reviews to those who don't know to filter.
