Food Shows in general

I love the food shows and generally buy something or a few "somethings" each time I watch. But...I hate it when the hosts open packages close to their microphones and make all of the crackling noise, it is sooooo irritating.

It is irritating along with their chewing in the mics or the moaning and groaning like a moment from that movie "I'll have what she's having."

They must have marketing psychologists on staff that tell them what sounds are likely to induce food puchases. If they don't --- well, they should!

I agree, but it wouldn't surprise me to hear producers tell hosts to do that because they found shoppers buy when they hear that sound.

There are two hosts I noticed who do that more than the others.

@baglady9 I enjoy the food shows also. I don't buy food too often but I will occasionally. The sounds just don't bother me. I never just sit and watch QVC so maybe that's why. I'm always up and about doing housework or on the computer doing something else.

I do watch them but buy very little because some of the prices are truly laughable. I tried the popcorn but found it slightly stale. I have and still will purchase the bagels because they are very good but only if they are in the assortment that I prefer. Wanted to purchase last week but were limited to 12 that I do like but came with 12 plain which I do not care for. However they seem to be on quite often so maybe next time. Some of the hosts I just cannot watch and others are ok by me lol.

The prices on ALL the food QVC sells are BEYOND RIDICULOUS. An example - $60 for 3 lbs of chicken bites - $20 a pound is a MAJOR RIP-OFF.

I totally agree and have never ordered a food item nor do I intend to. I guess if you don't shop and cook you may not realize you are getting ripped off. I am sure there are many people out there who will pay to not cook or shop. I just bought 4 chicken leg/thigh quarters for a grand total of $4.25. Yes I had to put them into the oven and cook them but at least I know what I am eating.

I was watching Corky's today and he was essentially selling 6 TV dinners of shredded pork, and spareribs for 86 dollars and change!! I have bought them at Walmart in the frozen food section for about 5 dollars a piece!!! It was shocking 🤣😂

I am just happy to see new people hosting Food Shows. i can now watch without the silliness of some of the hosts. Wednesday food show had become intolerable.

Their prices are insane! I was watching yesterday and they were selling chicken nuggets for over $100 bucks lol, I mean really? Who the heck can afford that?

Watched a little yesterday with Rick and Sandra . Sandra never stops Interupting, Rick could not get a word in! Plus she's very loud .

I used to watch and did purchase a few sale items years ago. Not any longer. The Q's high prices on a majority of their food are unwarranted. The only hosts I can watch presenting a food show are David, Jayne, Mary Beth and Mary. The other hosts are too loud and obnoxious. Not a fan of the squeezing and mashing of food. Gross looking

I don't watch the food shows---it's more about the hosts who go to ridiculous in- depth explainations and I wonder how much they actually do stock their freeezers with everything they present---and hard to believe that Sandra could out talk Rick!! Have ordered a few things--but not much and have had to return a few more due to the gross taste and quality--24 hours is way too much for any one thing!!!

I haven't bought food from the Q for years. But this year I've been fighting a knee that I think will have to be replaced as I can hardly walk. But this year I knew I couldn't shop around town for Chrstmas and wanted a Thanksgiving and Christmas meal that would be great and easy. I bought the Corky's 5lbs of turkey breast and 5lbs of ham, all pre-cooked. The turkey was delicious, the ham was tough, with about an inch of "meat" and the most horrible skin on top. Totally uneatable. Christmas dinner was ruined. To QVC's credit, they refunded half the price of the two items. But how am I going to trust their meals again? I mean it wasn't cheap by any means and my own supermarket hams have turned out far, far better.

One thing I did buy that was incredibly good was their three banana based banana bread for approx. $10 apiece.

We made it through the holidays but the one year I really, really needed them I was disappointed in many things......

IMO, Sandra doesn't belong on the food shows She's terrible and quite sneaky. She puts the food up to her nose to smell and then looks to see when the camera shot leaves her only to put the item down. She thinks she's fooling us when she takes a bite but in reality she just puts it down.

I hate the food shows on Q.

Price compare. Things are usually cheaper if you go directly to the vendor's website since promo codes are available on those sites or on Mr Rebates, Retailmenot, etc.
