I'm going to assume QVC is planning on everyone being super busy for the holiday weekend and thus this wonderful weekend programming.

But then I must think of all of those house-bound or just unable to be with family and friends for whatever reason and this is the best the Q has to offer on such an important holiday ?

Bland, boring, rountine programming to drive us all nuts once again.

WOULDN'T IT BE ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS IF QVC ACTUALLY GAVE US A WEEKEND TO REMEMBER WITH SUPERB PROGRAMMING SALUTING THE INDEPENDENCE OF OUR GREAT COUNTRY with shows and products

representative of the same?

I might just watch and faint !

I will be "demonstrating" against the 4 hours of product demonstrations tomorrow morning by boycotting them!.. And just as Thomas Jefferson advocated, l will pursue "happiness," not "property," on this holiday.

LOL, thanks for the update, Spurt. Love the kitty looking over the kabobs and the one trying to do Pilates! Well I have bought SB jewelry in the past but I think I'm tapped out on this one, as much as I like Carolyn, I will probably FIND SOMETHING ELSE TO DO!

Wow, do you think QVC realizes we can do that?

As far as watching the Sunday shows, nope, I'll pass on all that. I don't need any more kitchen stuff. I'm working on having less stuff, not more. After looking at my collection of holiday decorations and things (I've been cleaning and reorganizing my storage) I've realized I don't need to buy anything new so the whole CIJ is going to be ignored by me.

Great photos, Spurt! I love to see all the red, white, and blue. I'm also happy to see your weekly thread. It's hard to know what is still allowed here.

I'll be sticking close to home this weekend, doing projects and some cooking. During breaks, I might like to see some of the jewelry shows. Nothing else is of interest to me.

For Saturday Night Live fans: I saw on another thread last night that VH1 is having a SNL marathon. It started last night, and runs, on-and-off, throughout the holiday weekend. Just another alternative for those bored by the Q's offerings.

Hi Spurt, first i want to thank you for updating us last week on the appointing of the new official Alamo cat. I remember Cici (sp?) From the Must Love Cats show & was sad to see that she had passed. Second, thank you your usual amazing & amusing weekend update. Jewelry is too expensive anymore & i have a Nutri Bullet - is that sorta the same thing? I got it as a Xmas present but so far have only used it to grind the horse's flax seed :-)

My Fourth is sad this year, but i did try a little bit to cheer it up; however, i didnt spend the average $70, i spent 15 cents on an ear of corn :-) & i will watch the fireworks from my front steps.

To add to your interesting facts, i think John Adams & Thomas Jefferson both passed on July 4, 1826. Two great men who actively disliked each other, yet managed to work together enough to get tjis country up on its feet & running. Wish some of the current people in Washington could put this country ahead of themselves & their friends & their parties :-)

By the way, i still hate this new format & spend very little time here. You are worth the effort to view & reply & so is the Crafters thread over in the Home section. Other than that, i rarely do any looking around. There used to be thousands of people on these boards & now there are fewer than a thousa d most of the time :-( Take care Spurt & thanks for the laughs (loved the doggie before & after pic!)

P.S. Home Decor1, you asked who remembers Erma Bombeck & i wanted to say that I do!! I loved reading her column, she was so funny. I was very sad when she passed because she truly was one of a kind :-)

I just looked at the coming week and weekend on-air offereings. Between programming that never changes, never sees improvement, and the borderline oppositional management of these new boards that's led to a rather antiseptic experience, I think I'm just about done here. It's been a long time coming, but really, it's just not worth it, they have so little to offer anymore.

@stevieb @Spurt I watched a little of the American West shows but that was in between doing other things. Turned on the FE show this morning to see them selling "fall" clothing. Sorry, nope, not for me.

I'm about done here, too. I sent 2 e-mails to qvc social and have had zero response, so much for customer appreciation.

One of my friends says we have 9 weeks until school starts (she's a teacher) so we are using that time frame as motivation to get back into shape, plus it is summer so I am going to spend the time I might waste watching QVC and work out instead.

I will make my choice with both my remote and my wallet.
