Last night Shawn mentioned she canceled her scheduled Botox appt. She mentioned in her podcasts wanting to talk openly about cosmetic procedures with her guests. So far she has got some real honest answers. Breaking down the once taboo topic.

Talking about getting Botox is taboo? On what planet? Its talked about everywhere. I had Botox- allergic. Had filler and my upper eyelids done. No big deal .

I got a wrinkle around one side of my mouth I'd like to Botox, but, dentist said botox is just for forehead and around eyes. What I'd want done would be a "filler".

Scared to have anything done I don't want to look like

a freakyzoid.

I didn't know dentists did Botox ! I was shocked !

News to me. Just like when pharmacists started giving shots ! That was new to me and my poor husband who didn't want any part of it. Wouldn't do it.

Several years ago I had Botox for deep 11's. It was done in the plastic surgeon's office who years before had done my upper and lower eyelids ( thickened from side effect of years of Synthroid medication ).

Stopped the Botox after 3-4 appointments: no real discernible change. Very expensive to boot !

The only people I know that have had Botox

A co worker that told me she had it done for extreme sweating and the shots were injected into her arm pits.

And a relative that’s had the shots for a couple years all over her head for Migraines. And they help her.
She said its Very painful though! 🥴

I think what the poster is talking about ..is the fact that a lot

of celebrities want to keep it secret .. they want us to think

they are aging gracefully ....Just like weight loss drugs ..

@SharkE Dentists usually only inject Botox to relieve or prevent TMJ pain. My dentist has a sign up in the waiting room.

I think there's an age when Botox and fillers look weird...like me at 76 would never want a smoothe wrinkle free face. Who would I be fooling?

Real transparency , you think . No brainer that she's used Botox or had breast implants .

Real honesty is that all the lotions and creams alone don't soften age lines on people's face or body.

I don't see it as taboo, I see it now as conversation and status. Elite. I personally think it's ridiculous. I don't listen to Shawn much other than when her slot as host comes on but I see her and many who are striving to be albeit younger, among the elite, or other.

I was assuming in the OP @RescueLover that Shawn meant in general a taboo subject on QVC presentations. And I don't see a lot of celebrities talking about it either. Some may but most don't.

It’s not that Botox and fillers are being used, it’s that it’s kept a secret.

If you listen and watch Shawn’s podcasts she asks her guests about it. They’ve all been honest and have talked about it. She plans on continuing to ask new guests that she has on.

It’s interesting… Are these injections used as an extension of a persons wellness, like exercise, nutrition and hydration.

OR

Are they used like a regular beauty routine, like getting your hair and nails done?

OR

Are they used to make you return to how young you feel on the inside?

OR

Are they like used to achieve some kind of ideal beauty and look a certain way or even like a certain someone?

??? I don't think softening deep wrinkles is meant to "fool" anyone. Usually, it's just done to improve appearance.

Since you brought it up, does wearing makeup "fool" anyone?
