Whats the easiet way to fix/save QVC?

They have been going downhill for years. And their stock price is tanking. So whats the solution? Amazon is their biggest competitor. Is online the way, as cable tv is fading away. But even with their plus app like via roku, it is more of the same. Nothing is new. It is the same brands everyday. Because they are locked in to their 50+ demo. And won't leave their comfort zone. However staying in this bubble is what is hurting them. They will never get new customers with only catering to their core demo. Q50 is not working.

People want to see new brands and items. Instead we keep seeing pajamas day after day. Along with vacuums and food. Even when brands leave or retire like Laurie Felt, they don't replace them. They just double down on their house brands or add more hours of food. People change channels when there are 3 hour blocks of the same brand or designer. We want variety. The need to find new guests/vendors. Heck they basically only have 1 bra brand. They can't survive on house brands and food alone. And the reason there is so much food or vacuums is because its cheaper for them as the vendor does all the shipping. Not much is in QVC warehouses anymore outside of house brands.They tried being clever with studio park- but its still more house brands.

They just seem to spend money in the wrong places. Like traveling on the road for location shows, along with pickleball. Meanwhile 50% of guests are still via skype to cut costs. And using stock footage to cut down on live model cost. The only new brands they bring in are celebrites. I would rather have 10 startups for variety than 1 celebrity. Its like they think celebs and guest hosts are the only way to keep us tuned in. Or trying to turn hosts into celebs by making holiday movies.

Meanwhile if you switch to HSN it is night and day. Solo hosts, lots of variety. More youthful/slimming clothing, even lingerie. No pajamas in sight. Barely any food. Better tech. More live models. No skype. Yet they are the same company.

QVC needs to rebuild from the ground up. Get back to basics, and out of the bubble. Cater to all demos. Find more start ups instead of celebs and house brands for variety. Solo hosts instead of 3 hosts talking over each other. Focus on the product instead of gossiping. Get rid of skype. Use more live models. Present newer tech. Also cut down on christmas, no one wants to think about winter in july, we want beachwear. And find more online/streaming options because cable will be gone in 5-10 years.

I also think lower prices and faster shipping is a lost cause, those will never change. Due to inflation and the warehouse fire. I don't think they can afford new warehouses.

Do you think 2025 will bring in any change or will it be more of the same. What ways would you improve it to save it?

No fixing. Shopping channels are old school and circling the drain.

Not only Amazon but hundreds of other on line competitors with

better quality clothing and more updated styles.

Haven't bought make up from Q in years. Better prices elsewhere, just bought

a set of Clinique eye shadow sticks at Macy's at a great sale price.

Easy or reasonable?
Neither.

As I write this, another store is under and closing.

THE CONTAINER STORE announced today.

This adds to the list.

Everything is changing. Economy and the buying power.

Even AMAZON is not what it used to be.

Cannot predict how long the Q will last but as we all see

many shifts which seem to be red flags.

They could start by assessing the salaries some of these hosts make. You have one bragging about spending $500 on a blanket throw while they peddle the $29 ones to us. Then another, if you look at her selfie photo she is carrying a Prada bag....and how many of them have 2 homes: summer homes, beach homes, additional homes in FL or the west coast and dont forget the host that flies to FL several times a month. Being a TV sales person does not mean you are TV stars and they should not be paid as such.

HSN just seems fresher for some reason, even though their sets are more bare bones. Plus, they get you excited to buy the Today's Special when you get, for example, half off of an accompanying product. QVC needs to do deals when you buy the TSV too. Buy 2 TSVs get a deal or TSVs always having free shipping. Overall, QVC needs to do more of a variety (of brands and deals) to keep things exciting.

I started back in 91, with a landline extension by the TV, cable and a little red and yellow cardboard member card. You had to phone in your orders 😳 I had a desktop but I don't remember a site or search function. Anyone else?

Times change. Their business plan is outdated. These days I only search for an array of items and then choose.

Need to focus on improving shipping times, whatever that takes. Hosts are excess baggage and are a big source of drain on budget all around. The studios are also a big drain on budget. Improve the website for easier shopping. Combine all of that and then drop prices of what is sold.

I have to agree about the hosts, many are very lacking is salesmanship. Using the manufacturer reps to their max is a fast fix and those people should know their product inside and out. Flying the hosts to Vegas or London does not influence my purchasing, I look at it as inflating the costs due to the increased operating expense.

Back to basics, many of us have been with QVC for many, many years . . . there are probably others who feel like I do, I watched for products not entertainment. And as for the criticism of the first post. . . I would think that this is someone not wanting to endure the wrath that is being levelled at them, but someone that equally loves QVC and wants them back.

No, not ex employee- just a watcher/shopper for a long time. But was getting frustrated as a customer with the endless repetition and lack of new brands. And made a basic post on what can help fix it. Everything I wrote is common sense stuff everyone nitpicks about if you watch long enough. We want variety, the most simple thing. Use money to find new brands and expand the demo. That will help save it for a start, but instead they put money into pickleball and roadshows/celebs. Along with 24 hour blocks of food or pajamas, or the same 5 brands everyday. I personally would like more bra brands, as they pretty much only have 1 left as I said. More youthful apparel and less food will get more viewers. People can get food/vacuums anywhere. QVC used to be the place for specific designers and beauty brands. Now its just a gossip house brand channel. Maybe it can't be saved and this is the way the economy as a whole is going.

You make some good points here. I too have wondered why not more youthful apparel and why so much pj's and loungewear. The only younger women clothing line of Candace Cameron left. I never ordered anything of hers but was curious why she was on a lot for awhile then boom, she was gone. More variety would be nice.

Interesting! 2025 is going to be very interesting in the retail space. I just got a notice that Nordstrom is going to be acquired by its founding family. It is now going to be privately owned. Thanks for your interesting insight and we will see what the future holds. @cassielynn5
