QVC Nonstop Holiday Party

For those interested....

QVC has scheduled what appears to be a huge shopping series of events this weekend. It begins this Friday at 8:00pm, and it goes for 53 straight hours of Live programming. Many of the events will be live-streamed, and on social media platforms (ex., Kim Gravel will have a live pre-show on TikTok).

November 2nd -- notable mention, Kathy Levine and some hosts will have a Holiday Sing-Off.

November 3rd, Rick Domeier Game Show, with Kim Gravel & some QVC hosts.

I'm sorry, I'm not at all optimistic about Q's holiday party.

Q's generic titled shows always include the same old, same old products (or variations of).

If it's just adding so-called entertainment, I won't watch. I've already stopped watching a lot because of hosts' childish antics and obnoxious behavior.

Believe me, I totally understand all sides of this QVC sales-game-marketing coin.

I like different programming and look forward to changing it up sometimes. I also recognize QVC is notorious for just dangling titles and offering no true shopper-incentives.

But they've been having more free shipping events lately, and offering coupons -- something that's so out of the norm for them. I hope that's what they continue much more often.

So yes, I'm looking forward to it.

I'm also grateful they haven't announced a game show called Wheel of Menopause! or Age of Possibility Jeopardy!

Thank you for sharing this. I wondered what it was about but hadn't taken the time to look into it. I do like it when QVC tries to do something different.

People complain when they do the same ol' same ol' and then complain when they do something different!

Those complaining non-stop are just flat out of luck. Entertainment and shopping combined work, according to Qurate's VP of Streaming, Stacie Tedesco:

“At QVC+ and HSN+, we’ve unlocked a way to incorporate the joy that can come from shopping for yourself and others into a show that’s every bit as entertaining as one that’s meant solely to entertain.

People assume ‘selling’ means less entertaining – but ‘Busy This Week’ has proven that notion wrong. The season two renewal of ‘Busy This Week’ is a strong validation around how our innovative and engaging approach to shoppable entertainment is resonating with our customers. "

Qurate's future is undoubtedly streaming and "shoppable entertainment." I love that term!

@Beammeupscotty - I agree. Sometimes QVC can't win with customers no matter what they try.

If it's streaming or online viewing, I'm a "no-no," but for those of you who are a "go-go," enjoy!

I'd only be using it as background TV if it were on the main channel anyway. Sitting and watching it on a computer, phone, laptop is not my thing. Nor is trying to find the streaming channel.

What do you expect her to say.

The boards here tell a different story. Yes, it’s a small group, but that is what focus groups are. They represent bigger numbers.

Time will tell how successful they are or not.

I was checking out all the promos for upcoming shows as well and was happy to see "Alive with Possibility" disappear from this week's schedule after tomorrow night. But then it popped right back up just about every night in next week's schedule. BOO.

For me, that show is just an overhyped and overdone version of the miscellaneous gift shows we're about to be inundated with—November is definitely the time when I stop watching QVC much at all because there are so many shows filled with random items that are supposedly "perfect gifts" and so many of those are repeats from years past. Of course, there are new viewers each year, and of course, some of the items actually are good for gifting . . . but the shows featuring these items are always an odd combination of really boring items with hosts who are way too excited to present them. Time to find something truly entertaining to watch!

(And no thanks from me for any QVC "shows" on social media; everything being promoted in this "party" seems to be the parts of the item presentations that drive me nuts all consolidated into over-the-top games and goofiness. I do enjoy some of the banter and fun among hosts and vendors, but this is TOO MUCH.)

They do this every year now.

You can still watch all the segments from the 2023 Non-Stop Holiday party on YouTube.

It's over 7 hours long.

There is always a bit of confusion with this event as every year people complain on Facebook that they can't find the "show".

They can't grasp that it is streaming on the website/QVC Youtube Channel/Facebook and on QVC Plus.

In 2022 they had Backstreet Boys.

Last year they had the Radio City Rockets (again).

Most people complain on social media about it because it involves Mally as host. She is very polarizing.

I expect the same this year since there's a lot of hate for the Alive with Possibility/50 and Fabulous route they've taken.
