The kitchen shows are my favorites and I watch them whenever they're on, whether live or later. That said, I haven't particularly enjoyed the Wednesday ITKWD show for the past couple of years; they keep trying to make it "new" or "special" or "different," but it all ends up being the same plus a bunch of annoying and unnecessary nonsense (remember when they thought it would be fun and innovative to display the items in drawers and on shelves at the back of the set where you could only see the front of things?).

So as a big fan of all the kitchen shows, I will surprisingly request this: Just cancel the Wednesday night ITKWD show. It doesn't need to be revamped—it needs to go. Keep the four-hour kitchen shows on Saturday and Sunday where you have lots of long-time viewers/customers and just sprinkle a few more hours of kitchen-related shows around the rest of the week as you do with other non-fashion categories.

Having one-hour shows featuring a single brand would be fine, or truly be original and offer kitchen shows with a theme such as "Fall Entertaining" or "Holiday Parties" with special seasonal items or highlights of how to use everyday gadgets for big crowds or unique purposes. The ITKWD "holiday shows" end up being all food, which is not engaging when it happens over and over (and again, I'm someone who buys food, but there are too many food shows).

I think this may be the direction QVC is heading with a Wednesday night show that only has a few kitchen items in it, and it's the right move. There is so much more that could be done to keep viewers or bring in new ones. This approach may re-energize David as well; even he seems bored with the shows at times, so letting him focus on one big show per week with all he wants to give it and then perhaps hosting other categories (I'm sure there are lots of vendors who want David to sell their products with his big fanbase) or just an hour of a show with a kitchen theme every now and then could be a welcome change for everyone.

I got tired of the hours-long cooking shows years ago. The trend online is the 2-3 minute "how to" recipe videos all over social media. Maybe Q will adopt a shorter time format.

It's easy to have a short "cooking" segment on QVC because there is virtually no cooking at all. I really don't think there is any cooking at all actually. Grating cheese over a prepared plate of pasta is about as adventurous as David gets.

I haven't seen any actual recipes or dishes put together since the days of Meredith and Chef Joe when there were ingredients and seasoning of the entree and techniques were demonstrated.

I remember that they also had a side shelf, where you'd see the items at an angle.

Many businesses with perfectly good products (or in this case, effective presentations) suddenly get an "idea" that's supposed to increase sales, only to have them revert to the old.

I really think they should be cooking more. Show a few recipes being prepared. It could break up the monotony. Use the products you are selling to do the recipe. Don't just show a bunch of finished dishes as ideas on how to use the product!
I personally like seeing them really prepare a recipe rather than just showing finished dishes.
I'm not opposed to kitchen shows. I'm opposed to boring ones. Let's see some good recipes being cooked up using the itmes you are selling.

I so agree with you. The "happy dancing", and pretending like he is tasting a product for the first time was getting ridiculous. He gets samples at home of a product before the show, He said so himself once. And now the new logo is " pick a coloir that makes you smile". All of this nonsense is getting rather old to hear the same old thing over and over on every ITKWD show.

I have noticed just about every item presented is "the only order of the year". Just an old marketing ploy to get people to buy the item now. What is so funny, a month or two later there is the product again. Case in point is the GreenPan 6 cup nonstick 10-in-1 digital electric cooker that was presented last month. It was the only order of the year and once they are gone they are gone, Well, it did sell out, and now I just checked and they are liisted again in all colors. So a big fat lie.
