QxH "Best Customers" are still spending quite a bit!

Qurate Earnings Call Second Quarter August 8th

"Our existing customers continue to purchase at healthy levels, spending on average $1,665 and purchasing 32 items in the 12 months ended June 30. That is up 8% and 6% year-on-year, respectively.

Retention of our existing customer file was also up in the quarter. At QVC, our best customers, those who buy 20 or more items annually also continue to purchase at very attractive levels.

In the 12 months ending June 30, they bought 76 items and spent $3,950 on average, up 3% and 6% year-on-year, respectively. We had modest growth in new customers in the second quarter, marking the fourth consecutive quarter of new customer growth."

@They CallMe MRWILKES. I was a lot better customer than the one they describe as average. But I can guarantee I've cut my spending considerably.

I buy mostly clothing but what they've been offering doesn't suit me. They've obviously changed their design function and not for the better.

I am not one of the average then--no way have I spent that much $$ on that many purchases this year or for the last few years.. I did at one time, early on, but not now.

Interesting, kind of surprising at the same time. I too am one of those customers that has spent way too much $$ on here over the years. I have considerably slowed down and am still a work in progress because I still shop on HSN. Even that I try to refrain at times.

Nice to know I am better than Best! It would be even nicer to be rewarded in some way but they know they've got me, so why bother.

Don't assume things are going well for QVC. Their revenue is down.

But it's heartwarming to see money being spent on 50+ ambassadors and pickleball. I still fail to see how this core customer is being better served by QVC's Age of Possibility campaign. Wish that was expounded upon.

Wonder how sales on pickleball items have been going. The reviews of their bags have been less than favorable. Guess it would help if the paddle fit in the bags. And it's not as if you need special socks...so..

Personally I'd rather shop D!Ck's where selection is plentiful, prices are decent, free shipping with minimum, and a ScoreCard rewards program.

I too, find myself buying less and less. And for their clothing lines, gone are the lines I use to actively enjoy purchasing. Now I shop mostly from those retailers that reward me.

What I got out of the press release. I expect to see continued price increases, higher shipping cost, and fewer free shipping days. But what do I know. I'm just commenting from the sidelines. Now I'm off to see if Roku has any pickleball matches today.

I just read the release--definitely good news. Even though the revenue decreased the margin was up which is solid. Part of the decrease in revenue was Zulilly, which is to be expected. Looks like they sold the name and maybe even facilities to another entity since I saw that the website will be back up. The stock is now around $12. As one of the "best" customers, I may buy some stock too, not much to lose. 🤓

I’m not a best customer that is for sure. Don’t care for the matronly clothing style or the prints put out by the qvc “designers”. Have not purchased anything clothing this year. They aren’t making any money off of me that is for sure.

@RescueLover I have a friend that ordered a few items from the Me line. Very nice. She got the jumpsuit and it is just darling on her. She is going to an event tonight and she will rock the look!

Lucky her!! I wanted that jumpsuit but decided to wait on the reviews. I have returned so many jumpsuits that just don’t fit me like they should.

I see many customers are happy like your friend, so I’m willing to give one a try if they have my size available.

I am glad to hear QVC has been doing well. I have cut way back on my spending and watching. I have been a customer since the beginning. When I do tune in the prices are so high for clothing and the food items for example. The easy pays are nice but just takes longer to pay for things. Unfortunately the prices are just not affordable for me any longer.

thanks for the info on the jumpsuit! i really like that but my size is sold out. i will be keeping my eye on it to see if it gets re-stocks or an 'as is'....

I'm with @MoJoV The majority of Q clothing dated, martronly. Most D&C, big tunics, huge prints, and the SHOES are the worst. Design unappealing and 1/2 inch sole??

Kim G recent TSV ' BOHO ' top huuuuge prints, huge sleeves, very matronly.

Yup, I bought 2 sweaters from Q in last 6 months. That's it. I find better prices/ styles elaewhere.
