Christmas in July...Yay or Nay???

Hi! Nay for me. Summer just started. Bad enough many stores push Christmas on us in September now. It seems like the Q is selling Christmas items earlier each year. I think they should just sell it year round lol! I know it's my perogitive not to watch. So I won't, but those of you who enjoy it, have fun!

I love Christmas in July!

Just like I can drink hot coffee in the summer, I have no problem differentiating the outside weather with other things I like to do.

Every year I get a fantastic jump start on gift and dinner planning. It puts a smile of my face.

Saves me a fortune when they show that stuff and not bags, jackets, and clothes so yay for me keeping my money.

Nay, because I think it's stupid 6 months in advance.

I got other places to shop from catalogs, Mall, etc.

Not listening to a bunch of jabber about stuff that doesn't concern me any more.

Waaay back to when I first joined these discussion boards, I made a similar derogatory comment.

A few people told me why it was so important to them, and put me in my place.

The poster explained she & her husband were seniors on a fixed income ... and had several grandchildren. Being able to purchase various Christmas presents on easy pay meant they could buy presents for the grandkids and not be financially strapped in November, December and January, etc.

I have to admit, I honestly hadn't thought about that.

So, the moral of the story is .... if you don't like CIJ, just go sit out by the pool and enjoy the summer heat.

Others really look forward to those shows for budgetary reasons.

A big NO! Why the entire month? I try not to watch. At my age how many christmas wreaths,, trees and ornaments do I need. Even the food is a pass. I still have the lindts chocolates from December. I hope the Q is watching this because I am a shopper, but will not watch if it is selling Christmas all day long.

There are plenty of things I won't watch but others do. I don't expect a shopping network to cater to my personal tastes alone.
