As-Is Now Final Sale

QVC has made the poor choice to apply its No returns or Exchanges Policy to As-Is items. I would be willing to accept this if QVC would inspect each as-is item to be sure it is not damaged, worn, laundered, altered in any way. But they do not. I have received many as-is items that belonged in a dumpster. I personally will not purchase another As-Is item if this is the way they want to conduct business. There is no value in QVC if you are stuck with an item that was unfit for resale in the first place.

I agree, they should then rate the item. Either in pristine condition, very good, good or shows signs of wear.

Then explain each rating, so the customer can make an informed decision.

As-is products still say, "As with other items sold by QVC, we want you to be completely satisfied with every order. Accordingly, if for any reason you are not entirely pleased with this product, simply return the item within 30 days of receipt for a refund of the purchase price minus the shipping and handling charge and the Q Return Label fee."

I believe you are mistaken about this. There may be some non-returnable "as-is's" but not all. I just received an as-is garment this week which came with a return label.

yes there's one near me. I was there recently. With the exception of handbags, the fashion section looks like old outdated thrift store junk

@munchiesmom It appears you are correct! The other statements are still there for As Is items. However, when you get to the Checkout page it clearly states in red letters, "Not Eligible for Returns or Exchanges."

That is definitely new! There was a pair of Lawrence Zarian pants I wanted. He's a new brand to QVC, and already those As Is pants cannot be returned???

Mods, can you please verify whether this is an actual change in policy, or a glitch in the system for all As Is items?

I've purchased many as is items over the years. 99% brand new. One cookware set had a broken baker, but they sent me a new one. I'm sure the policy changed, but I had to send the broken piece back. Not safe, but I triple wrapped it in bubble wrap. Just didn't make sense to me, I offered them a picture of the shattered piece. QVC certainly is making some poor decisions on pricing and returns. I still shop here, but not the volume it once was.

I did get clearance pricing panties on free shipping day, and now the price is jacked up again by $8. What? Isn't clearance, because you want to move out the quantities? And the TSV pricing, $2 or $4 different than the regular prices on many now. Not the values it used to be.

@Caaareful Shopper I just did a test and you are definitely correct. It does NOT say no returns or exchanges until you get ready to check out. However, when you add the item to your cart a box pops up saying this may be a return, exchange, etc., but that the item still qualifies for Q's 30 day return policy. Very confusing. I think the MODS should clarify this.

I have never/don't expect to ever purchase an "as is" item. I see shoes in this category and I think "ugh." Unless it was a huge markdown--75% or more--it's an easy pass for me.

Lots of stores doing that. I bought some items at our local Eastern Mt Stores and there were some clearance and some 20% or 30% off. Needed to return for a different size but they didn't have the same color. It was the same item just a different color and they would not do it.

QVC needs to clarify because it still says the item can be returned within 30 days when you add the item to the cart, but when you check out it says all sales are final. Which is it QVC?

I bought both a ratcheting tool set and an electric rotary cutter that was in my wish list and probably on Clearance on the last Free Shipping event. They had both been there for awhile. At final checkout I did get that message that one of them was NOT ELGIBLE FOR RETURN. I'm not sure which item it was. It's not on my receipt. Neither item was an As-Is item.

During the free shipping event on 6/8, I bought four sets of "As Is" Valerie Parr Hill hurricanes and saw no messages of any kind about "no returns" during checkout. Only two of the boxes had the traditional invoice in the plastic window on the outside, but both of them are standard invoices with a detachable return slip and no mention that returns are not allowed.

I buy a lot of clothing and often get garments that were customer returns, got 2 last week. I've never gotten one that wasn't in pristine condition.

If you've had bad luck with "as is", why do you keep. Buying them?
