Has anyone noticed quite a number of the ladies chosen as Shining Examples Of Embracing The Age Of Possibility have had cosmetic surgery? In my opinion, that does not foster the MESSAGE. Helen Miran, save the day!!!

whatever works for the individual

hopefully getting to a nice mature age of 50 and over results in 100% tolerance and zero body/image judging

I agree with you about Helen Mirren. She is aging gracefully. Judi Dench and Julianne Moore are also aging gracefully. I know that they have had plastic surgery but they still look like themselves.

@lgfan I adore those ladies!! I first discovered Judy Dench on on the shoe "As Time Goes By," which is one of my all-time faves.

I'd add Maggie Smith to this list, too. Have you ever watched, "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" -- 50 and fabulous is on full display!

I'd add Meryl Streep to the list of aging well. She may have had some "work" done but at least she still looks like herself well into her 70s.

I don't blame them. If I was in the public eye, had the money and time to recuperate privately, I'd have cosmetic surgery too.

In my situation now, it's of little importance to me so I'd never bother.

I think the Vertical Restore procedure that Dr Karam does is the most natural looking cosmetic procedure I’ve ever seen.

He just did the procedure on his wife and he shows her daily recovery on YouTube. His work is quite amazing!!

He believes you should look like a better version of yourself and look as young as you feel.

He does not believe in Botox or fillers. He says that unless you do Botox every 3-4 months the muscles will relax even worse than when you first started. And if too much is done on the forehead eventually the skin will get heavy and effect the look of your eyes.

And fillers he said stay for the long run. MRI’s show this. Eventually when you start to age with skin sagging due to gravity the fillers make your face sag even worse than if you never got them to begin with.

Many celebs are getting the fillers dissolved. Courtney Cox (from Friends) and the brunette actress (forget her name) from Sex and the City and the actress Demi Moore have had their fillers removed. But he said it’s not an easy procedure to do and can lead to uneven skin if not done right.

He said that the 10 + years fillers have been around they now know all the long term effects. Best to avoid fillers to begin with.

@RescueLover If I ever decide to go this route I will be paying him a visit. I think he is in the Carmel Valley area of San Diego which is close to me. I really like his philosophy regarding ps. I'll have to watch the video showing his wife's progress.

I don't care if people have cosmetic surgery. I just don't consider any of the hosts on Q to be quintessential.

I'm just glad we live in an age where we have that option if we choose.

At age 52 I just got Invisalign to straighten my teeth. I've never had "surgery" but I've had Fraxel as well as chemical peels and microneedling. Getting my hooded eye lids done is next on my list.

Just because someone chooses to 'do things' doesn't mean they aren't aging gracefully.

IMHO, grace is how I act, show love and compassion.

I do NOT intend to give up any of my preferred skin care, hair care routines etc.

I will continue to dress in outfits that make me feel good about how I look.

Aging gracefully doesn't mean giving up on what makes YOU feel your best.

To each their own.

I’ve had a lot of plastic surgery after weight loss. I had a total body lift in stages & it wasn’t a picnic. However, I never regretted it & I went to a noted surgeon in NYC. I didn’t go for my first procedure thinking I’d go for a total lift. But, when one thing got fixed, another area looked droopy. I didn’t do it to look younger or for others. I worked hard to loose weight & was left with a lot of skin. I see nothing wrong about plastic surgery because it makes you feel better about yourself; I had all this done when I was in my early 60s.
