You know...I am no longer enticed to buy clothing by watching the current models. I wanted to look like Suzanne, Kate, Anne, Angela...others who could have been on the runway. JMHO

I enjoyed the models from the old days. Those days are gone, including most of the great fashion designers that were on QVC whose clothes they modeled. Time marches on. That's life. I like the newer models, too.

I hardly recognize some of the models anymore or even the hosts sometimes. Sadly everything changes eventually.....it was fun while it lasted.

I prefer models that are more diverse and have realistic bodies (like everyday people that are not runway models). I, personally, applaud Q's decision to not exclusively use runway-type models. It's helpful in making purchasing decisions because you can get a better idea of what a garment looks like on "regular " bodies.

I think a model should show off the clothes to make the clothes the most attractive to purchase. I do not think QVC is doing that right now. Most tops that QVC offers are too long on anyone about 5'3" and under. The tops come down to the short models knees. They look like they have no legs. Sometimes the pants drag on the floor and it looks very slovenly. I used to like watching the "fashion" shows whether I was buying or not. Now I rarely turn them on.

good point but some of the stuff they have to wear is put together so poorly that it doesn't entice me to buy

Models are there to show how an item looks on a person, rather than on a hanger. Never have I been enticed. But I do wish they showed the backs more often. Did a 360.

Exactly! I am size M-seeing how it looks on a plus size model does not interest me. They used to have a few regular models & one or 2 plus size so we could see it on different body types

I want to be inspired with a pretty model in a well curated outfit. Sadly, whomever is choosing the models and their outfits is not helping anyone to imagine looking or aspiring to buy. The plus size models are rarely in the correct size and look painful. Hosts are squeezing into XS for fantasy sizing.

I enjoy Katia, Dee, Jackie, Jill, Jamie. What qvc is doing now is over reach. It looks like the Sears catalog from long ago and not in a good way.

I definitely appreciate the diversity of models and inclusivity, but perhaps the Q could analyze which sizes they sell the most and analyze the sizes women 50 and over wear. They could use a bell curve with the sizes and match model sizes and air time accordingly if they're not currently reaching their customers.

It would seem to me it doesn't matter who or what size the models are as long as the items fit properly which, from what I've seen, is not usually the case either for the models or hosts.

If it doesn't look good on them, it will not look good on me and no sale.

Yes, that makes sense. Something that always bugs me is the fact that bookend sizes ALWAYS sell out too quickly. Since they sell so many xxs and xs, I'd think they'd always order many more. There's been so many times I've wanted to buy an item and by the time I watch the presentation (sometimes even before) they're gone!

Years ago, I'd usually watch the entire show and then place my orders together. That way, I could buy pants and matching tops etc. Now, there's no way I could dream of doing that.😔

I am 5'3" and always look for longer tops.

We are not all built or shaped the same even when we have the same height.

I have very long legs and look for longer inseams.

I have a short torso and believe tunic length hides that and makes me appear to have a longer torso.

They still have plenty of tops that are shorter. I see and pass on them all the time.

Many D&C tops I look at would be too short on me.

No matter how much I want to, I will never look like Kate, Katia, Dee etc.

I can be inspired and imagine all I want, but when I get the item, it is still on me!

I am sure they study what sizes are selling the most of and plan their models around that.

As I have said a number of times on these boards, none of the models look like me. I understand seeing the product on a body, hanger appeal is usually not the way to judge a garment (see most episodes where this is stated on "What Not to Wear" lol). But I always use the garment measurements for sizing and my own opinion on if I like the appearance and or quality of the item.

I will say, the static Belle shows always have Katia, a tall glass of water and a tiny waist, and Jamie who is tall too, but a curvy build. There should be some middle ground, which I think they did better during her last TSV for the zipper blouse. I like that they have added the wheelchair models and others who different challenges, but they are also only sprinkled in few and far between.

@cheriere That may be. But it does not make sense that the lunchtime specials and super duper clearance items always seem to be the bookend sizes. It is hard to find a M or L once it gets to the last of them.

I never noticed that before. It always seems like my size gets gone so quickly when an item is still newly presented. Maybe I should check the specials out more often.❤️
