Is Wicker Park REALLY made exclusively for the Q?

I went to TJ Maxx today and saw Bouganvilla spears (exactly like Wicker Parks) in black metal hanging baskets with Martha Stewart name tags on them. The baskets were at least 17” baskets (larger than the Q’s) and came in the white or pink/purple combination for $29.99.

I don't know specifically about Wicker Park but many identical home products are sold with different brand names. I think the brand names may be "exclusive". I have seen products sold on QVC also at Amazon under dif names. The product specs are identical, sometimes the photos are identical, but the brand names are different. Even within Amazon I see identical products sold with different names. Identical specs, sometimes identical photos.

I do not know if this holds true, but there was a thread several years past that mentioned Wicker Park being owned by Bethlehem Lights. I also think I heard once that it was a QVC brand, but I am certain one of our more savvy posters will know for certain!🥰

@NYCLatinaMe Interesting. I even remember the Q hosts saying you wouldn’t be able to find quality faux spheres like this in the stores.

Items are premade and in a warehouse. Stores and vendors shop there to see what is available.

They choose what items they want and can have them packaged under their own logo.

Most of these items are not custom made or designed for a particular retailer.

When I visited China, I got a tour of one of these factory's and warehouse where importers and retailers could shop. It was very interesting.

The place I toured had garden items...planters, statues, stone look benches, rugs...indoor and outdoor, bed linens and decor stuff..mostly Christmas ornaments.

I also visited a shop where they were making wooden furniture such as desks, tables and chairs. They had young boys in their teens working there after school as part of their education...surprising.

@Carmie - Your post brought back an old memory. When Joan Rivers was alive, I honestly never saw her jewelry duplicated anywhere else. She was very involved in it and the quality was superb.

However, after her death, there was a brooch offered - it was said to have been specially designed for the 25th anniversary of the line.

I purchased it. And was none too pleased to see the exact same brooch, right down to the colors of the enamel, online for another company. The only "special" thing about the JR brooch was the logo on the reverse side.

I returned it (letting them know exactly why) and haven't bought anything since.

I've seen similar items in the home decor stores and on Amazon. I have bought Wicker Park from QVC and am happy with the quality.
