I don't know if you're going to get a response from QVC on this matter. All I know is that the moderation on the QVC forum is very random.

oh they poof us all the time in fashion forum . As soon as we come down on a host or product it,s gone so get used to it . Then they start a thread with the same issues and spin it like it,s all good so tread lightly and enjoy it while you can get a real comment on .

The guidelines are very strict and if one abuses them they get poofed, banned or put in time out.

A person gets one of the above when other posters report them therefore if you are disliked as I am you get lots of reporting.

I have started taking the guidelines seriously and have not had one poof in a couple of weeks.

I really don't either... Besides, there are ways to say what you want to say without being poof-worthy... Each to their own, but I can't see posting just for the sake of posting if I'm not saying what I really want to say...

I would assume anything that gets deleted would do so because it doesn't meet Community Standards. If you disagree, you can always call the office of the Moderators and have a discussion. Sometimes they will explain their actions if they feel you have a proper request.

The issue that many have is that the moderators are not consistent at all. Most people know what they should and should not post - it's pretty obvious. The anger/annoyance factor arises when any given moderator on a given day/shift either starts over-deleting posts that are not obviously delete-worthy or against standards just because the posts are reported and not because they actually deserve deletion - and when any given moderator on any given day/shift *does not* delete posts that are clearly intended to be rude and offensive, noted and reported by many. I think to most people the borderline posts are no biggie - it's the genuinely nasty, deliberately insulting posts that don't ever get deleted, and the posters who realize they're getting away with it for that shift so they take it to the insulting max - and their posts remain - that is what angers people the most. I'm not talking about the open to interpretation posts, the nasty-but-subtler posts, etc. but ones that are very clear in intent and content that clearly violate standards by anyone's view. If anyone bothered to contact the Community people they would no doubt just say oops sorry we missed a few, oh well.

No one knows if the Moderators actually are moderators with training in the Standards, or just random people who are forced to nanny the forums during their shift whether they want to or not - and QVC isn't ever going to say.

All most people want is consistency, in either direction, it doesn't even matter if it's too stringent or too lax, so they will know *across the boards* what is tolerated and what isn't. But tolerated at 8 pm on Tuesdays, not tolerated at 4 pm on Wednesdays does no one any good.

Community standards don't say you can't be critical... There is a way to do it without being heinous about it...

Consistency would be nice, but I'd prefer the err on the side of simply leaving things alone. Being consistently quick on the trigger finger would be worse than being inconsistent.

I do, though, think moderators should delete posts based on reports from another poster only after they've read it and it is clearly a violation, and NOT just because someone got ticked off and decided to whine and it's just easier to delete it than it is not to...

It's perfectly possible to post something that mods feel is too controversial, too political, etc. about a *topic* that mods may feel it's best to delete, without mods feeling the poster *tried* to be nasty. Just a judgment call. But if mods see a pattern of posters choosing to be personally insulting, IMO they should make note of the frequency that person is reported, make note of *what* was said, and take it higher if they can't decide on their own if a person should be warned, suspended or banned.

I just feel like we are all adults and should be able to either ignore or put up with certain things if you don't like it and I know for one, I certainly don't want to pay QVC more money because they have to pay someone to be trained to know when to delete a post or to pay a person to solely work the forums, which I am sure they don't right now.I think that is just silly for supposed adults.

But I don't think personal things about a host or vendor should be tolerated.

Some people just don't like to be called out for their hypocrisy, passive aggressive posts, etc. and when they are, they cry to the forum police.

And I suppose you'd all want this post deleted too because it might offend your sensibilities.
