Harder to Shop Backwards

The Q has changed the "Items Recently On Air" and now takes more steps involved to get to the shows and see the products.

It may not bother some, however, I find it less user friendly.

Anyone else?

@kindred cats It's just like shopping our familiar grocery stores - just when we know where )most) everything is, they change it up again.

Why oh why...I hate what they've done here, you're right, it's not user friendly and it jumps around from left to right and back again. You're racing around trying to 'catch it' and it moved again. Does this happen to ou?

I also HATE the columns of stuff on the far left for all the stuff that was along the top edge. This takes away from space to view items I think. HSN changed to this same format a while ago, I don't like it there either. I don't feel it's user friendly for what we want to see.

I'll sometimes tune in right at the end of a presentation of an item and I may not even get the name of said item to search on. The only way I know of to to find said item is via the Recently On Air route. Sounds like a possible lost sale to me. IMO, when it comes to shopping websites, simpler (for the consumer) is better. I'm not interested in a flashy website.

I agree also. It's bad enough when they don't improve the things on the website that need improving, they now also mess up procedures that were working fine before. That's corporate culture in a nutshell.

WHY?? So frustrating and above all, completely unnecessary.

I hate having to chase down recent items on air. It should be so easy, but it isn't.

I don't watch much, just bop in to check items receently on. Now that it has changed I'll probably be purchasing fewer items. Thanks QVC for helping me save more momey.

I. typically get pop-ups of no interest to me and it then takes me twice as long to locate and view what I was interested in, My annoyance level then runs high and usually deflates my interest in the target of my original search. When I click on Items Recently on Air, THAT is what I want to view and NOTHING else. I hope that The Q has some data to justify this rude approach to their would-be buyers.

Or when the home page has a good looking sweater for example.

The heading says "New Sweaters" but when clicking on the link the sweater in the home page photo is not to be found.

I only use the app as its cleaner & less cluttered to me. They list items recently on air as usual or you can go to program guide, press the show then items on air. Easy to use.

I agree with @Mz iMac in that it may depend on the device or possibly browser. I typically use an iPad and have had no changes lately. In fact, some time ago they put the Items Recently On Air back on my menu bar and I find them easier to use now than they had been for a while.

I do not like this new setup at all! It took me awhile to figure out I had to click on the "time" option to get the list of progams that were previously visible. It's no longer easy to navigate or just simply check out a particular show. My biggest question is WHY? Why change a simple to use way to view previous shows to one that is more complicated and has more steps? Whose idiotic idea was this??

No cells or ipads or other devices. I keep it simple for me.

@kindred cats - The changes to the website are pointless and quite inconsistent; QVC's approach to "web design" illustrates to me over and over again that they have no idea about best practices or how to engage customers.

Anyway, here's an easier way to access "Items Recently on Air": Set a bookmark and use that instead of the website menus. Just paste the link below into your browser's address bar, replace "eastern" with your time zone if needed, press enter to go to the page, and then create a bookmark.

And here's a pro tip: If you get an error message saying content isn't available and you're trying to view items from the main channel, switch to the Eastern Time view and you'll almost always see the items. SO dumb. (If you get that error with recent Q2 show listings, you might just be out of luck until the next show begins; I'm not sure why they've never corrected that recurring error after all these years.)

You are using a Windows OS. Have you tried changing browsers? Your OS & browsers up to date?

I find it strange not everyone is experiencing the issues you are having. If Q changed around its website, everyone would see the changes not just a few.

Perhaps those noticing a difference could mention their device and browsers to see if there is something in common.

Thank you for posting this. I too find the new system complicated and hard to use. I thought it was just me, since I am not real swift when when it comes to technology.

So, like others have noted, it will probably prevent me from going back, reading and thinking a while about what I want to purchase. I think the end result will be that I order and purchase less.

In the end, there will be less activity on my credit card. I guess I should say: "Thank you QVC, for helping me cut back on my QVC purchases."
