Re reviews, please review the product, not other issues you may have!

I wish people would stick to reviewing the product, instead of some other issue they might have. For instance, I was looking at something to potentially purchase as a gift, and the only review was a complaint that measurements weren't listed with the sizes, and nothing about the product itself. She gave it 2 stars. And unless you read the review, you would assume there was something wrong with the product if you saw 2 stars. It's really not helpful if people include customer service complaints, such as delayed shipping, wrong size shipped, etc, and then give a rating based on that complaint. When I look at reviews, I want to know if something is true to size, how it washes, if they like the color, and whether or not they like it!

Likewise I don't like it when the review is posted on QVC reviews but it's a review someone made on the vendor's website. IMO that doesn't count. It's just QVC trying to rack up reviews.

Why would anyone look to a review for less information? Makes no sense whatsoever.

I can understand someone having poor writing skills, not being able to express herself or not having the moxey to write a decent review of a product, but why oh why does QVC have to publish some of the ridiculous stuff that's submitted. If people were rejected they soon learn what is expected. Also standards should be prominently displayed.

I don't really understand your concern. People want reviews and many, many companies will share reviews from the vendors' websites, including Target. What advantage is there for QVC to "rack up reviews"? It's not like they're hiding the source to make it look like they've sold more.

I always read the reviews every time and rely on them to make my decision.

I don't feel like I passed up something good when the reviews were bad.

The entire review system at QVC is a joke.

There are 4 "5 Star" reviews for David's not yet shipped calendar.

And one "1Star" review which is pretty funny.

The majority of those reviews from other websites seem to often say they were "part of a promotion". I don't consider that a legit, or, proper kind of review basically. It's possibly tainted by the fact they received the item for free of course. A good example, Just really makes more sense if it's a fellow QVC customer that is used to and familar with QVC sizing, etc, as an example, if for a clothing item. JMHO!

Agreed. When I read a review was part of a promotion, I don't validate it. To me it means they got the product for free. I look for sizing information as well as material quality.

I was just going to start a thread on this very topic until I saw yours. This is a huge problem, and QVC needs to fix it. I recently left a 5 star review for an item I purchased and received. Only to have the next person leave 3 stars and a complaint that it is taking too long to ship. A clear customer service issue. I don't know why the Q allows this because HSN does not. The Q could take a few lessons form HSN like the easy return/exchange option they have. You simply hit the exchange line and then choose the new size or color and they ship the new item for free and give you like 7 days to return the other one. That being said, it doesn't do any good to post it here, we all need to make customer service management aware of this problem so maybe it will get fixed. I will be doing this today!

I agree the review system should be revamped. You should actually have to answer specific questions such as sizing if it's a fashion item, instead of writing paragraphs about how you will style it and where you are going.......... total nonsense.

Totally agree! If there's an issue with anything other than the actual product, I don't need to know. I wish they'd spend more time on these ridiculous reviews that have nothing at all to do with the actual product than deleting forum statements.

I understand your point on this,. I wasn't considering the incentivized reviews, even though they don't really bother me. I can see how one might not see those as impartial. Thanks for your explanation.

I agree 100%. I wish QVC would not allow these “part of a promotion” reviews. I don’t even read them and do not consider them when making a decision to purchase or not.
